Abstract
The implement is used as a means of joining a leading rider's bicycle to a following rider's bicycle in order to form a tandem like structure. It consists of a foldable or telescopic bar with fixations at either end in order to attach it to both of the bicycles. The bicycle connecting implement is detachable so that it may be stored on the bicycle in a convenient location, e.g under the cross-bar.
Description
2362620 Bicycle Connecting Implement la- This invention relates to a
bicycle connecting implement to be used as a non-rigid connecting tube or implement. It will give the ability ofjoinffig the leading rider's bicycle to a later rider's bicycle, in order to form a tandem like structure.
Bicycles are an energy efficient, non-polluting form of transport and are used throughout the world, outnumbering cars three to one. They are also used in sport and for pleasure.
A bicycle connecting UinPlement to be used as an attachment M the Joining of two bicycles, forming a tandem like structure. To be used when a cyclist has said to have 'bonked' i.e. hit a state of exhaustion, and therefore enables the second cyclist to-help by taking off some of the pressure enabling them to carry on together, or the stronger cyclist of the two helping the other to train, by taking off some of the resistance.
Bicycles are becoming a well known mode of transport for people in the UK and world-wide, and are ever more popular to young children.
A preferred embodiment of the invention will now be described with reference to the accompanying drawings in which:
FIGURE 1: shows the bicycle connecting implement in place.
FIGURE 2: shows an example of the telescopically collapsible bicycle connecting implement fully extended.
FIGURE 3: Shows an example of the bicycle connecting implement which may be folded in half, fully extended.
FIGURE 4. illustrates how the foldable bicycle connecting implement may be folded for easy storage.
FIGURE 5: shows the bicycle connecting implement stored on a bicycle.
With reference to the drawings, the bicycle connecting implement will consist of a long collapsible bar with fixations at either end of the bicycle connecting implement, in order to attach it to both of the bicycles. The suitable fixation may be fibre tie straps, attached to rubber impact absorbers for example. Suitable fixation methods win be quick release but provide the perfect strength and durability needed for its purpose.
Impact resistors may be situated between the tube and the fixations, at either end of the bicycle connecting implement, in order to reduce the impact or resistance when setting off. They may be made of rubber or other suitable impact absorbing material.
The bicycle connecting implement will be detachable, so that it can be folded in half, or telescopically collapsed, and then stored on the bicycle in a convenient location for example along the top bar of the frame of the bicycle, therefore it will always be at hand if needed. It will be durable, lightweight, easy to assemble and attach, and may be made in a variety of sizes.

Claims (3)
1. A bicycle connecting implement to be used in the joining of two bicycles, forming a tandem like structure.
2. A bicycle connecting implement as claimed in claim 1, comprising of a long collapsible bar with fixations at either end of the bicycle connecting implement, in order to attach it to both of the bicycles.
3. A bicycle connecting implement as claimed in claims 1 and 2 which may be detachable, so that it can be stored on the bicycle in a convenient location, and will always be at hand if needed.
