Abstract

BrassiÞres; corsets.-An upper part a in the form of a brassiÞre is attached to a hip moulding part b the whole forming a corselet or corset substitute, supported by shoulder straps i. and comletely encircling the body, the upper and lower parts being provided with corresponding stiffeners which terminate at the junction between these parts. As shown, the garment is modified to serve for maternity purposes and is provided with an open lower part to which is attached an interchangeable insertion l, which may also be attached to flaps by hooks and eyes s, t. The breast-supporting part c is stiffened by rods of which the outer ones are preferably of cane and the inner ones of softer material. The rods may be inclined. Insertions e of porous material are arranged at the side of the breast supports.
