Tipping-wagons. - In road vehicles having tipping means consisting of levers operated by screws and nuts, racks and pinions, hydraulic cylinders and pistons, or the like fixed in a horizontal position to move or slide the body rearwardly to the tipping position and to tip it and used in conjunction with auxiliary levers or brackets having inclined surfaces for giving an initial lift to the body prior to tipping, the auxiliary levers are pivoted at a point below the chassis members or the ramp is suspended downwards from the chassis members to keep the body as low as possible and to enable an acute angle of tipping to be obtained. The body c, Fig. 1, is moved rearwardly over rollers engaging in tracks k by means of links connected to a horizontal screw-and-nut arrangement driven by hand or by power, and during this movement the body is also caused to tip by means of a pair of auxiliary thrust links o, or levers, pivoted at p and engaging recesses in brackets f. Continued movement of the nut-andscrew arrangement causes the body to tip further, the auxiliary links o disengaging from the brackets f and being retained in position by springs s to receive the body on its return movement. In place of the auxiliary links o, a ramp w, Fig. 5, may be provided, coacting with a roller mounted on a bracket u secured to the body.
