Abstract
235,275. Fulford, W. H. March 6, 1924. Secret and selective systems.-A receiver adapted to secure the con. tinuous reception of messages transmitted either consecutively or simultaneously on two or more different wave-lengths is characterized by the provision in each of the tuned aerial circuits of a small series condenser of approximately 0.00001 mfd. in order to render the tuning of each circuit independent of the other. Two or more circuits 1. 4, 9, tuned to the different frequencies in use, are branched across a common receiving aerial 2 and feed corresponding detector valves 5. The output circuit of each valve 5 comprises a reaction coil 9 and the primary of a low-frequency transformer 10. The secondary of each transformer is connected across the grid and filament of the same amplifying valve 11, which therefore receives a continuous signal in spite of frequency alternations in the transmission designed to confuse an unauthorized listener. One or more amplifying stages 12 may follow the detector valves 5.
