Abstract
235,098. Briggs, R. C. Jan. 1, 1925. Trays and waiters.-A handle 4 extending across the tray is hinged' to it at the sides so that it may be folded down upon the' periphery without obstructing the trayspace, or erected vertically, in which position it may be locked,e.g. by means of hinged flaps 7, as shown in Fig. 1. Alternatively, the handle may be locked by means of pegs 19, Fig. 1, engaging in slots or holes in the handle, or by spring plungers 10, Fig. 3, mounted on the handle and adapted to engage holes in plates 11 attached at either end of the tray. The Provisional Specification describes also a construction in which the ends of the handle engage with a self-locking action in sockets in the vertical and horizontal position.
