Abstract
Quick release sections composing a sports kit or parts thereof, e.g. shirts, shorts, are designed to part when the wearer is fouled by a pull or pulls on his kit so made. Garments thus made are able to be readily reassembled on the field of play. The wearer will be personally less vulnerable to the effects of opposition pulls and tugs on his or her kit since such pulls will be easily discernable by the referee.
Description
2350049 <i>uick RE:IEEl<zisE.k Sp(Drts Kit This invention relates to the
use of hook and eye fasteners (or other fasteners serving a similar purpose) being incorporated into sports shirts and shorts and the like, with a specific intention that when an opponent tugs or pulls upon the aforesaid garment it separates and thereby indicates to the referee(s) that a foul has been committed against the player wearing the aforesaid sports garment.
Fouls of shirt pulling and even the pulling of shorts are commonplace today in the world of soccer and other sports. This invention will help to pin point opposition fouls. The invention will also allow the impeded player more chance of playing on without being stopped by a shirt pull or the like.
The sports garment will be held together by one or more fasteners of a quick release nature which when pulled during the course of play will separate into two or more components or may remain as one garment displaying signs of interference. The amount of force required to separate or part separate the sports garment during play would be at a level which was greater than the normal forces exerted by the general sporting activity of the individual wearer. This will give a clear indication to the referee(s) when a sports garment so made has been pulled during play. The garment will be able to be reassembled on the field of play without the necessity of special tools or that of additional materials.
EXAMPLEA sleeve, the front panel, the back panel, the collar or other component of a sports top or shorts, may be pulled off completely or partially pulled off during play of a soccer or other relevant sports match. The referee will thereby have a clear indication that a foul has occurred. If required some or all of the detachable panels or parts can be partially fixed to the sports garment they comprise, so as to stop them being completely detached during play.
Players wearing this type of sports kit will benefit by the referee being given clear indication of a tug or pull on the kit by the opposition player(s).
In the past, players have been stopped during a game by opposition players pulling on their kit. This invention will allow the wearer to carry on despite having their kit pulled. A section of said kit will simply be left behind when pulled; or simply hang off if released prior to full parting of the sections or if partially fixed to the main garment.
-2CL/\IMS 1. Quick release sections composing a sports kit or parts thereof. Sections being designed to part when the wearer is fouled by a pull or pulls on his kit so made. Garments thus made able to be readily reassembled on the field of play.
