Abstract

A greeting card or gift tag (10) includes means for attaching it to the stem (S) of a rose or other flower (R). The card or tag includes an electronic recording system (12,14,16) to enable an audio message to be recorded by the sender and replayed by the recipient. The attachment means may comprise two clips (20,22, Figure 2) spaced one above the other.

Description

Greetinq Card or Gift Taq The present invention relates to a greeting card or gift tag.
Greeting cards and gift tags of a variety of different forms are known. Typically the sender encloses the greeting card or gift tag in an envelope, or attaches the gift tag to a gift using a tie or adhesive tape.
I have now devised a greeting car or gift tag which may be presented in a more attractive and pleasing manner.
In accordance with the present invention, there is provided a greeting card or gift tag which includes means for attaching it to the stem of a rose or other flower.
Preferably the attachment means serves to attach the stem of the flower in an upright orientation relative to the greeting card or gift tag.
Preferably the attachment means comprises one or more clips, e. g. two clips spaced apart one-above-the-other.
Preferably the greeting card or gift tag is of generally rectangular shape. Preferably the greeting card or gift tag is generally of planar (i. e. flat) form.
Preferably the front face of the greeting card or gift tag has a free area on which the sender may write a greeting or other message.
Preferably the greeting card or gift tag includes an electronic recording system, enabling an audio message to be recorded by the sender and subsequently replaced by the recipient. thus, the electronic system of the greeting card or gift tag comprises a microphone/speaker means and actuator keys for enabling the system to record a message via the microphone/speaker means and subsequently to replay the recorded message via the microphone/speaker means. Preferably the microphone/speaker means is directed to the front face of the greeting card or gift tag.
An embodiment of the present invention will now be described by way of example only and with reference to the accompanying drawings, in which: FIGURE 1 is a view of a gift tag in accordance with the present invention; FIGURE 2 is a view of the rear of the gift tag of Figure 1; and FIGURE 3 is a view of the gift tag when attached to the stem of a rose.
Referring to Figures 1 and 2 of the drawings, there is shown a gift tag 10 which is of rectangular, flat form. The tag incorporates an electronic recording system for recording audio messages: this system includes a microphone/speaker 12 and is operated by"record"and"play"buttons 14,16 provided on the front of the gift tag. The front face of the gift tag is provided with free space for the sender to write greetings upon.
In use, the sender may record an audio message by pressing the"record"button 14 and speaking to the tag, using the device 12 as a microphone. The recipient may press the "play"button 16 to replay the recorded audio message, the device 12 acting as a speaker.
The rear of the gift tag 10 is provided with two Cshaped clips 20,22 which are spaced apart one-above-the-other.
These clips enable the gift tag to be attached to the stem of a flower, for example the stem S of a rose R as shown in Figure 3.
It will accordingly be appreciated that the gift tag which has been described may be used in an attractive and pleasing manner.
