Oil switches; switch mechanism interlocking with lids; covers and lids; switchboards.-Interlocking means between an isolating switch and an oil switch and the removable cover and tank thereof comprises a sliding locking-bar H pivotally attached to a crank-arm G on the isolating switch spindle B and co-operating with spring- controlled sliding-bolts J, J<1>, J<2> of which J' works in conjunction with the oil switch operating spindle A and J, J<2> with pivoted latches M, N for the oil switch cover F and tank F. In the position shown in Figs. 1 and 2 corresponding to the " on " position of the isolating switch the ends of the bolts J, J<2> bear on the plate H so that the catches MN are held in engagement with projections E<1>. F" on cover E and tank F. The bolt J which is pivotally attached to a plate K pivoted at K<0> may be moved inwards against the spring O<1> by the cam A<1> on the switch shaft A so that its end projects into a hole H' in the plate H thus locking the isolating switch in the " on " position until the oil switch is opened. When this occurs the bolts can all be moved inwards the inner pair being opposite holes H<1>, H<2> in the plate H and the lower bolt, J<2> passing under the end of the plate. The isolating switch cannot be reclosed until the oil switch is opened and the cover E and tank I' are replaced. In replacing these parts the projections E', F<1> engage shoulders on the catches so drawing back the bolts J, J<2> against their springs 0, O<2>.
