Abstract

Soaps, apparatus for making. - Apparatus for making soap comprises an autoclave 1, in which the ingredients injected through a sprayer 19 are mixed by an agitator 23 while being boiled at about 290‹ F., a draw-off pipe 27 to a cooler 29 discharging into a salting- out pan 32 heated by coils 33 34, an adjustable pipe 36 for conducting the soap to a pump 38, pipe 40, and crutcher 41, and a soap mould 45. The autoclave 1 is closed by a convex cap 2 pressed down by a screw 7, 9 working through a steel band 5 pivoted on pins 6. The fire-bars 14 are pivoted so that withdrawal of supporting bars 15 causes the discharge of the fire into the ash-pit 17.
