Abstract

A water craft has longitudinal inflatable air bags 2 disposed below the waterline in a plastic or carbon fibre frame, with a hinged cover 5 held in place by a full length bracket 8. The air bags are inflated with compressed air provided by two compressors 3 via an inlet valve 4, while an outlet valve 9 is provided to allow deflation of the air bags. The air bags may be inflated in response to a signal sent from a sensor mounted on a mast of said water craft. In another embodiment the air bags may be mounted on another vehicle which may come to be on a body of water, such as an aeroplane.

Description

TWIN SELF RIGHTING AIR BAGS 2341821 1. Two compressors to supply air to
bags 2 One of two air bags inflated by air from compressor 3 Compressors one for each bag with input and output valves 4 Air inlet valve Quick release hinged flap for retaining elongated air bag 6 Keel 7 Hull 8 Three hinges for trap door air bag release 9 Output valve one of two to enable bags to deflate
CLAIMS THE SELF RIGHUNTG AIR BAG (DW.98.6)
The-self righting air bagg is inflated b compressed air through an inlet valve attached to a y refilable air tank, it also has an air release valve piped to the rear of the vessel to deflate the air bag, the G.R. Plastic or carbon frame can be shaped to any yacht or sh p reg d ess of size, i ar I the pyramid shaped holder for the air bag has a shaped bottom with a inlet outlet valve to be attached when fitting, the spring back door opening is held in place by a full length bracket 11:1 0 made of strong lightweight material, the fitting to any vessel is a simple process, the frame to I., C Z-5 0 hold the air bag comes in three parts as shown in drawing for a yacht the lenght can be Z7 0 1"1 extended to fit any vessel afloat.
