Abstract

An electric liquid heating vessel (2; 50) has a single liquid level indicator (18; 54) arranged generally centrally at rear portion of the vessel (2; 50) such that the level of liquid (24) indicated by the liquid level indicator (18; 54) may be seen from either side of the vessel. The liquid level indicator (18; 54) may comprise e.g. a tube (28) in fluid communication with the interior of the vessel or a transparent window (56) in the wall of the vessel. Also disclosed are means (74) to illuminate the liquid level indicator (18; 54) or any other suitable level indicator.
