Abstract

233,603. Davis, L. M. Nov. 4, 1924. Handles with clamping and recessed-back retaining-devices for brushes.-The stock 15 of a toothbrush is slid into and detachably held in a recess in the handle 11 by a thin headed stud 18 provided with a radial hooked arm 20 which is rotated to engage with or to snap into a depression in the stock, the shank of the stud being of smaller diameter at one end so that, when retracted from gripping position, cleansing of the stud hole is facilitated. The flanges of the recess are curved inwardly as shown at 14, and the side flanges converge to wedge the stock in position. The arm 20 of the stud has side wings large enough to prevent the stud from dropping through the hole. The head 19 of the stud lies in a recess in the handle.
