Abstract

A baby stroller comprises at least one speed reducing mechanism 2, which includes a roller 20 mounted on an axle 27, two springs 25, and two bearing blocks 26, one provided at each end of the wheel axle. When there is no baby sitting in the stroller, the springs stretch, and the roller 20 can rotate freely. With a baby present, the springs 25 are compressed, and the top of the roller 20 contacts a braking surface 23 thereabove to effect speed reduction. This can assure safety of the baby. The stroller also includes skid-proof devices 3, 4 which engage the floor to inhibit the stroller being pushed down stairs.

Description

2335957 AUTO-SENSITVE SPEED REDUCING MECHANISM FOR BABY STROLLER The
present invention is related to an auto-sensitive speed reducing mechanism for baby strollers, and especial -ly to such a mechanism which canforcedly limit moving speed of the baby stroller to secure safety by at least one load braking wheel which is auto-sensitive to the weight of a baby sitting thereon.
With progressing of the world as times go, people are gradually critical to safety of various products, especially of baby strollers which are used for little babies, and parents think more and more highly of safety of them.
A conventional baby stroller has the function of randomly fast moving, however, the inventor of the present invention studied and found that, such fast moving function was quite dangerous to a baby sitting in a baby stro -]]er, and therefore developed the present invention in order to get rid of the stated disadvantage by the innovative mechanism.
Accordingly, the main object of the present invention is to provide a baby stroller having at least one load braking wheel which has the function of auto-sensi -tivity to load, if there is a load, i.e., when a baby rides on the baby stroller, each of four rollers can be contacted forcedly with a braking surface thereabove with friction force therebetween, so that an object of automatical speed reducing can be achieved.
The secondary object of the present invention is to provide a baby stroller having on the bottom of the chassis thereof a plurality of lateral skid-proof -devices and corner skid-proof devices, when the baby stroller is rushed out into a stair way inadvertently, braking function is provided by these skid-proof devices and corner skid-proof devices to prevent the baby stroller from fall -ing down stairs.
The present invention will be apparent in construction of its structure and functions thereof after reading the detailed description of the preferred embodiment of the present invention in reference to the accompanying drawings. Wherein:
Fig. 1 is a schematic view of the construction of the present invention; Fig. 2 is an analytic perspective view of a load braking wheel of the present invention; Fig. 3 is a sectional view showing the--- load braking wheel of the present invention; Fig. 4 is a partial sectional perspective view of the load braking wheel of the present invention; Fig. 5 is a sectional view showing the motion of the load braking wheel of the present invention; Fig. 6 is an analytic perspective view of a corner skid-proof device the present invention; is Fig. 7 is an analytic perspective view of a lateral skid-proof device the present invention; Fig. 8 is a schematic view showing assembling of a corner skid-proof device and a lateral skid-proof device of the present invention; Fig. 9 is a'vlew showing an embodiment using a corner skid-proof device of the present invention.
Refering firstly to Fig. 1 of the drawings, one embodiment of the autosensitive speed reducing mechanism for baby strollers of the present invention Is provided on the bottom of the-chassis 11 beneath the struts 10 of a conventional baby stroller with a load braking wheel, two corner skid-proof devices 3 and two lateral skidproof devices 4, wherein:
The load braking wheel 2 is comprised mainly of, as shown in Fig. 2 and 3, a roller 20, a wheel hood 21, two insertion holes 22, a braking surface 23, two mutually opposite spaces 24, two springs 25, two bearing blocks 26 and a wheel axle 27; wherein the roller 20 is provided in the wheel hood 21 which is opened downwards, the wheel axle 27 extends through an axle hole 201 to facilitate rotation of the roller 20; the two insertion holes 22 are used to connect the chassis 11; the two mutually opposite spaces 24 are used to receive the two springs 25 respectively, two upper positioning stubs 241 and two lower positioning stubs 261 are provided respectively at the tops 0 and the bottoms of the two springs 25, the upper position -ing stubs 241 are integrally connected with the wheel hood 21, and the lower positioning stubs 261 are integral -ly connected with the bearing blocks 26; the upper positioning stubs 241 and lower positioning stubs 261 are spa -ced for quite a distance from each other before the two springs 25 are compressed (as shown in Fig. 3); the bearing blocks 26 are used mainly for supporting both ends of the wheel axle 27.
Fig. 4 is a perspective view, wherein, the distance between the wheel axle 27 and the ground is constant by separating of the roller 20, when a baby rides on the baby stroller, the weight of the baby will render the chassis 11 to compress the two springs 25 (Fig. 5) to shorten the distances between the upper positioning stubs 241 and lower positioning stubs 261 which are originally kept spaced for quite a distance from each other, lastly the upper positioning stubs 241 and lower positioning stubs 261 close to each other. two slots 211 provided for the wheel axle 27 are moved down to render the top of the roller 20 to contact the braking surface 23 of the wheel hood 21 with friction, thereby the roller 20 will bear larger drag force in rotation than that in the case before contacting the braking surface 23, in this way, it will be forcedly retarded and braked.
is Referring to Fig. 6, the corner skid-proof devices 3 each is comprised of a skid-proof pad 31 and a pad seat 32, the skid-proof pad 31 is connected to the pad seat 32 through four protruding stopping blocks 311 engaged by four pairs of engaging plates 322 in four engaging slots 321 on the pad seat 32, each pair of engaging plates 322 can inhibit a stopping block 311 from dropping-, a plurality of engaging stubs 323 are provided on the bottom of the pad seat 32 and can be inserted into a plurality of engaging sleeves ill on the lower portion of the chassis 11 to connect the pad seat 32 with the chassis 11.
Referring to Fig. 7, the lateral skid-proof devices 4 each is comprised of a skid-proof pad 41 and a pad seat 42, the skid-proof pad 41 is connected to the pad seat 42 through two protruding stopping blocks 411 engaged by two pairs of engaging plates 422 in two engaging slots 421 on the pad seat 42, each pair of engaging plates 422 can inhibit a stopping block 411 from dropping, a plurality of engaging stubs 423 are provided on the bottom of the pad seat 42 and can be inserted into a plurality of engaging sleeves 112 on the lower portion of the chassis 11 to connect the pad seat 42 with the chassis 11.
Fig. 8 is a schematic view showing mounting of a corner skid-proof device 3 and a lateral skid-proof de- vice4 on the chassis 11. When the two front wheels 12 is are rushed into the stairs 5 inadvertently, they are sus -pended in the air, while a baby is sitting In the baby stroller, as is shown In Fig. 9, the corner skid-proof devices 3 can provide skid-proof function in time (and the lateral skid-proof devices 4 too) to increase drag to delay time when the baby stroller falls down stairs, so that an adult can do rescue.
