Abstract
Condensation Control and Ventilation Unit with zero running costs including an electrical operated fan (2 and 3) drawing its power from the battery (4) charged by photovoltaic cells (1) during daylight hours creating a constant positive air pressure within the building and replacing contaminated and moist air with fresh filtered air.
Description
2335031 CONDENSATION CONTROL AND VENTILATION UNIT This invention relates
to SOLAR OPERATED CONDENSATION CONTROL AND VENTILATION.
Condensation control and ventilation of buildings are using an increasing number of positive pressure type mains electrical operated fans, these are running for a major part of the year and where the same method is used for the control of Radon Gas control and ventilation continually, and an increasing amount of mains supplied electricity are being consumed, against the environmental requirements to reduce global warming.
The Positive pressure ventilation principal injects filtered air at the uppermost ceiling level using any accumulated heat to temper the incoming air to the building, at the same time reversing the air flow, (Where air normally enters by vents in wails, 'crackage' around doors and windows, positive pressure pushes air out in these places carrying moisture with it reducing condensation, at the same time ventilate the property with fresh filtered air.
The purpose of the invention is to use solar cells to provide free electric power incorporated in a Positive pressure ventilation unit.
With the virtual sealing of buildings against heat loss and 'closing up' of the property for security purposes, ventilation is becoming costly to operate, It has been found, especially in public sector housing, that ventilation systems are turned off because of operating costs, incorporating solar power to operate ventilation systems tenants and owners can be assured of zero running costs, an healthier household and securer environment can be assured.
With the amount of fossil fuelled electricity consumed purely on ventilation of buildings, with the use of this invention make a significant reduction in power consumption and running costs can be achieved Specification.
The present types of positive pressure units available are mains electric operated, with the installation of a suitable electric fan motor operated by photovoltaic cells during daylight hours at the same time charging an incorporated rechargeable battery for fan operation during hours of darkness.
Referring to the drawing the positive pressure unit the fan unit motor 2. Draws its electricity from a battery 4. charged by the Solar Photovoltaic cells 1. mounted externally of the building and charging rate governed by the battery control unit 6.
A specific embodiment of the invention will now be described by way of example with the reference to the accompanying drawing in which: - Figure 1 Shows the Solar generated electrical components incorporated within a positive pressure ventilation unit.
Figure 2. Illustrates the position of solar generated electrical components as applied to a positive pressure unit installed within the roof space of a building.
2 Figure 3 Version of Solar generates electric condensation control and ventilation unit for buildings were no roof space is available.
Figure 4 Illustrates the position of Solar generated electrical components as applied to a positive pressure unit installed within the building without roofspace.
Referring to the drawing the positive pressure unit the fan unit motor 2. Draws its electricity from a battery 4. charged by the Solar Phovoltaic cells 1. mounted externally of the building and charging rate governed by the battery control unit 6.
