Abstract

233,389. Still & Sons, Ltd., W. M., and Still, E. H. Jan. 8, 1924. Infusing-machines. -A coffee - making machine, such as that described in Specification 10148<A>/07, is provided with means for cooling the water slightly on its passage from the boiler to the coffee, so that it is at a temperature of 160-180‹ F. when it comes in contact with the coffee. In the form show the cooler consists of a casing 16 in which are. flattened tubes 13 through which the water passes from a lower header to an upper header 19. Air enters the casing 16 through openings in the walls thereof and escapes through pipes 22 traversing the header 19. The current of air is regulated by a hinged damper 24 operated by a thermostatic capsule, as shown.
