Abstract
A straw assembly for a drinks bottle includes a straw 6 which may have a bendable portion 2, a closure body 3 with a straw receiving aperture 4 for sealingly receiving the straw, and a lid 9 which may have an axial projection 5 which rests in the dispensing end of the straw when the lid is in place on the bottle. The closure body may have an air inlet 7 and may be held in place by a ridge 8 on the bottle neck which inhibits removal of the assembly. The assembly may include a safety seal 10 which is twisted off to remove the lid. The straw may be cut to a length which suits the size of the bottle.
Description
DRINKS BOTTLE WITH STRAw
This invention relates to a drinking bottle with a built in straw to enable more comfortable drinking.
This invention is designed for the soft drinks market to use on either their glass or plastic bottled drinks. The straw inside the bottle can be adjusted to fit any sized bottle.
The current bottled drinks now simply have a twist off cap and is drunk straight out of the bottle by tilting your head back, once the cap is removed the acid in the drink starts to escape and before long the drink goes flat and tasteless.
The idea of my invention is that you can buy a drink in a bottle and be able to drink straight out of the bottle in a more comfortably and more hygienically way and the taste will remain as good from start to finish.
Many advantages are obtained by this invention that are:
Due to a special seal fitted in the top of the bottle the drink can retain its freshness and taste at all times. Also due to this seal the problem of spilt drinks is of the past, so people of all ages can drink from this bottle with ease, be it on some form of transport, walking or simply sitting down. This seal will also help keep the drink inside the bottle free from any harmful germs or bacteria.
The straw inside the bottle will have a manoeuvrable head therefore you can have your drink in a more comfortable way as you can move the straw to the desired direction.
The preferred embodiment of the invention will be described with reference to the attached drawings in which:
FIGURE 1 This is a drawing of how my design looks inside a bottle.
FIGURE 2 This drawing shows the inside view of the bottle containing the straw.
FIGURE 3 This drawing shows you my invention of the straw that will go inside the bottle in a more detailed drawing.
FIGURE 4 This drawing shows the top view of the bottle.
FIGURE 5 This drawing shows that the seal that will be on the top of the bottle holding the straw will be the same width of the outside lid.
FIGURE 6 This drawing simply shows step by step usage instruction.
Referring to the drawing the parts of the straw are shown in detail by figure 2 with 1 the part of the straw used to drink from. the straws top can be manoeuvred by tilting 2 to desired position. The seal of the bottle will be situated at the top of the bottle 3. the straw will be held in place by 4 so it wont slip around in the bottle. Positioned inside of the top lid will be a piece 5 that will rest in the straw when bottle closed to keep the drinks acidity in place. The bottom of the straw 6 can be cut according to the size of the bottle. To ensure the suck ability of the straw a small hole 7 is made through the seal. To ensure a safe fit of the seal to the bottle there will be high raised lines or ridges 8 around the bottle so this part cannot be pulled off easily. The top of the bottle will have a cap fitted 9 and the straw will go through this cap.
The freshness and safety seal 10 is fitted around the top of the bottle as current designs have and is twisted off to remove the top lid. Only the straw inside the bottle is my invention as shown in figure 3, 11 illustrates how the straw would look in a bottle.
Figure 3 shows the straw in a more detailed way with the numbered parts being the same as described in figure 2.
Figure 6 shows the step by step usage of the drinks bottle fitted with the straw. Number 1 you twist the lid to break the freshness and safety seal and lift off the lid. Numbers 2 & 3
Manoeuvre the straw to your desired position, and enjoy your drink, and number 4 when the drink's finished simply replace the lid and dispose of in a bin.
When this design was invented it was done with also the manufacturers in mind, keeping their costs to a minimum. It would only cause a small alteration in their normal routine of the production of the current styled bottles. The packaging made to contain these bottles will still remain the same as there is no alteration to the size or shape of the bottle. I believe that the companies that use this design for their bottled drinks would help to increase their sales and would have an advantage when it comes to advertising these new bottles, as the current bottles are all the same so they will have something new to show.
