Abstract

Paper bags and the like,making.-Relates to a device for attachment to a paper-cup making machine for packing the completed cups or the like in tubular cardboard cartons. The delivering orifice 2 of the machine is arranged within a tubular support 4 carrying stationary ratchet racks 5 in the form of evenly spaced segments. Movable ratchets 6 are adapted to be vertically reciprocated so that a paper cup, on being thrust down the orifice 2, is held stationary by the ratchets 5 while the ratchets 6 are rising, and is carried down the distance of one reciprocation when the ratchets 6 fall. A ring 23 on a sleeve i carrying the movable racks ensures that the cup engages the uppermost stationary rack. The carton 23<1>, to receive the cups, is placed on a counter-weighted table 16 which descends as filling takes place.
