Abstract
232,780. Pribble, C. S., and Irvine, W. H. April 28, 1924. Building-motions. - In order to build the " bunch " in bobbins on spinning-machines, the lifter-rail is prevented from traversing at the commencement of the building of the bobbin by a stop 47 which is operated by gearing 45, 46 from the ratchet screw 18 on the building-motion lever 11. The shaft 27 that operates the lifting- rail is connected by a flexible member 21 with a slide 16 on the ratchet screw and by another flexible member 35 with a block 34, which is slidable on rods 33 on the lever 11 and engaged by the stop 47 so that movement of the shaft 27 is prevented until the stop is removed by the rotation of the wheels 45, 46. The wheel 46 is removable so that the initial position of the spindle 43 that carries the stop may be adjusted to vary the formation of the bunch. The lever 11 is operated in the usual manner by a cam 31 and is supported at its free end by springs 29.
