Abstract

Controlling different functions by same handle or lever.-The internal-combustion engine a which drives the road wheel c of a bicycle through a friction roller b is carried on the bicycle by parallel links e and is raised to disengage the roller from the tyre by means of a wire f which first short-circuits the magneto and also operates a brake wire p; in the reverse operation the roller makes contact with the tyre before the magneto is operative again. The wire f first tensions a spring v until a stop comes against an insulated contact g and short-circuits the magneto; further movement of the wire f then raises the roller from the wheel.
