Abstract

A shield is provided for mounting underneath a motor vehicle sunroof to provide insulation and /or to prevent draughts. The shield can be a translucent or transparent plastic and can be located between the openable sunroof and its surround and held in place by means of "VELCRO" (R.T.M.), rubber suction cups or adhesive. It can be made of polystyrene and can have a handle or ridge for manoeuvring it into position.

Description

THE TRANSLUTENT INSULATED WINTERSHIELD.
OR THE WINTERSHIELD.
THIS INVENTION RELATES TO THE MOTOR VEHICLE SUNROOF WITH SUNBLIND FACILITY. to drastically reduce our chances of catching cold, flu, or feverish symtoms when driving or sitting in a vehcle with a glass sunroof, i have invented the translutent insulated wintershield, or simply the wintershield. the wintershield is invented and deiRned to protect driver and front seat passengers head and shoulders from icy draughts and cold that permeates into the car through the glass sunroof, especially in autumn and winter seasons. the wintershield is designed and made of insulated waterproof polystyrene or plastic.it can be made translutent or coloured to suite car.it has a ridge, or finger grip running along its back so it can be manuvered in or out of' tile sunroof when necc essary. the frist 20cm, around the outer edge is harder polystrene or plastic to help keep its shape, it also enables it size if necessary. on the reverse side it has two strips of velcr
clit t ( tS W tie oLonE to he adhibited to the top of the sunblind just tinder the glass roof the other strip already attached to the wintershield when the wintershield is insert:d intn the sunroof and the two velcro strips are pressed together it will hold firmly in place. the tilted roof is then closed.this is were the wintershield will give real protection from the cold permeating through the roof. when the adhision is dry the wintershield can be taken out by just tilting the sunroof, and from the outside of vehcle ptill velcro strips apart antl slide out,to put in ,insert through tilted sunroof press velcro together close sunroof the wintershield is velcroed to the top of the sunhlind incase we forgot its there and tilt the sunroof open ,the wind wollJd blow it away' while thewintershield is in place the sunblind will not be able to be pulled backwards as normal from the inside.apart from that all usual functions can be used as normal.this 1 think is a small price to pay for protection your health in cold weather. p.s. the wintershield can be translutent to allow minimum inconviencr of light and keep the essence, or the aestetics of the sunroof and the vebrlr. these measirments should fit all sunblinds on vehcles with tilt and wind- backsunroofs. (400cm in length).
(~680cm in width).
(6cm to 10cm in thickness).
(20cm of hardend polystyrene or plastic around the perimeter).
(15cm by 2cmstrips of velcro ther are two).
(the ridge at the back is measured at 680cm in width, by 40cm, in length and 10cm high this is also made of harder polystyrene or plastic). the invention is discribed by way of example with referance to dimensions accompanying drawings from figures, 1 to 5.
THIS INVENTION RELATES TO WEATHER PREOTECTION FROM SUNROOFS IN VERY COLD WEATHER CONDITONS. stinroofs are well knowii arcessorys on motor v@h@les. comprising of r @i@@ and windback glass roof and sunblind that is on the inside of the vehcle, according to my present invention the translutent insulated wintershield that is of universal sized cold weather protector for the front seat passenger and driver who expierance significant icy draughts anfl cold that comes into the car especially in autumn and winter seasons.through the sunroof. it is made of insulated waterproofed waterproofed polstyrene, or plastic.it can be translutent or color coded tn suit tile car.

THIS INVENTION RELATES TO THE GLASS SUNROOF WITH-OUT THE SUNBLIND FACILITY.
THIS INVENTION IS ANOTHER DESIGN TO MY ORIGINAL TRANSLUTENT INSULATED WINTERSHIELD.THIS DESIGN IS CALLED "THE STICK-ON WINTERSHIELD".
IT PROFORMS IN THE SAME WAY AS THE ORIGINAL,BUT INSTEAD OF INSERTING THE SHIELD THROUGH THE TILTED SUNROOF,THE STICK-ON WINTERSHIELD HAS FOUR RUBBER STICK-ON PADS,ONE ON ALL FOUR CORNERS.WHEN THEY ARE MOISTEND AND PRESSED
ONTO THE GLASSROOF FROM ThE INSIDE OF THE VEHCLE ITSPROTECTS AS THE ORIGINAL DOES,AND WHEN YOU WANT TO REMOVE IT,IT HAS HANDLES THAT CAN BE GRIPPED AND PEELED DOWNWARDS AND OFF.
ITS THICK AND STURDY ENOUGH TO ACT AS AN INSULATOR BETWEEN THE GLASS ROOF AND INTERIA OF THE VEHCLE,ITS ALSO TOUGH ENOUGH TO WITHSTAND THE STRESS OF PEELING OFF AND PUTTING ON.
THE STICK-ON WINTERSHIELD CAN BE MADE TO FIT ALL GLASS SUNROOFS WITH-OUT THE SUNBLIND FACILITY GIVING THAT EXTRA PROTECTION ESECIALLY IN AUTUMN AND WINTER SEASONS.
IT CAN BE MADE TRANSPARENT OR ANY TRANSLUTENT COLOUR WITH GOLD,OR SILVER SPARKLES DOTTED THROUGHOUT IT FOR A MORE APPEALING AESTHETIC EFFECT.
