Abstract

A fishing bite indicator having electronic sensors 4 and 5 which when supplied with a power source through plug 2 from an electronic rod provides the angler with an audible and visual warning of a fish Bite. The composition of sensor 4 provides the angler with a choice of fishing technique to suit the weather and fishing conditions encountered.

Description

AN ELECTRONIC FISHING BITE INDICATOR This invention relates to an electronic fishing bite indicator.
Various types of bite indicators exist,but all are for visual purposes.
According to the present invention there is provided an electronic bite indicator which is both audible and visual when plugged into the end of an electronic fishing rod.
A specific embodiment of the invention will now be described by way of example with reference to the accompanying drawings in which: Fig 1. shows an electronic bite indicator with a flexible semi-grid sensor.
Fig 2. shows the bite indicator with a pliable sensor.
Referring to the drawing Fig 1 the indicator comprises a power plug 2 and body 3 housing two sensors 4 and 5.
When the fishing line is threated through the eye-ring at the end of sensor 4 the line tension is set restricting contact point 6 from making contact with sensor 5 resulting in any increase or decrease of line tension when the bait is taken bringing sensors 4 and 5 into contact indicated by the arrows,there-by completing the electrical circuit setting off the alarm on the electronic rod giving an audible as well as visual indication.
Referring to Fig 2 the same technique applies except sensor 4 incorporates a centre section 7 which is pliable allowing the sensor 4 to hang down.

Claims (3)

1. An electronic fishing bite indicator.
2. An audible and visual indicator as claimed in claim 1.
3. An indicator as claimed in claim 1 or claim 2 having electronic sensors provided in a plug-in body to be used in conjunction with an electronic rod.
