Moulds.-In a moulding machine for manufacturing building-blocks, of the kind in which the mould consists of a box-shaped frame 1 which slides on vertical guides 3 and can be lowered by means of a system of levers and crank gears 11 relatively to the entirely independent bottom pattern plate 16, until the finished block is completely exposed and can be readily removed, a sliding supporting frame 21, for supporting the frame 1 in its raised position and to give it the necessary rigidity when the material is being rammed therein, is provided on each side of the guides 3 and is arranged as to be horizontally displaceable thereon. The frame 1 is actually supported by pins 25 fixed to the side thereof and bearing on projections 24 provided on the supporting frame 21, the top edge of the projections being made inclined or slightly S-shaped so that the, height of the frame 1 can be adjusted within limits in order to mould blocks of different thicknesses. The frame 1 is provided with a loose bottom 4, on which the core pieces 5 are fixed. When the frame 1 is raised, by means of the links 13 from the crank gears 11, the plate 16 rests on the plate 4, and when the frame is lowered, it rests on four columns 17, the upper ends of which slide in holes in the plate 4 and the lower end of which are fixed in a supporting plate 18. In order to lessen the stroke of the frame 1, the plates 18, 16 are adapted to be raised, by means of cams 19 fitted on the shaft 9 of the cranks 11, simultaneously with the lowering of the said frame.
