Abstract

A foldable airer cover is made of PVC sheet and has plastic rods 11,13 which maintain the shape. Rods 11 are hinged at 12 to allow folding. When made into a rectangular prism (Fig 2) two sides are joined together at 15 by a sliding fastener. Attachments 14 are provided for fastening to an airer or dryer. A top 10 may be held out of use by studs 16 or in a covering position by use of a sliding fastener. A three sided cover is also described.

Description

CLOTHES AIRER COVER This invention relates to a cover for a clothes airer.
Clothes airers are common to many households. A clothes airer consists of a metal pole fixed firmly into the ground, with rotary arms attached which could move in both a clockwise and anti clockwise direction. These arms will have polyester lines running through them.
Clothes airer covers will be made of PVC and fit around the airer. It shall have a hood attached, which could either be domed down or zipped up.
A specific embodiment of the invention will now be described by way of example, with reference to the accompanying drawings in which: Figure 1 - Shows the cover fully opened.
Figure 2 - Shows the cover attached; hood down.
Figure 3 - Shows the cover attached; hood up.
Referring to the drawing, the cover comprises of PVC sheet #10 with plastic rods #11 running along the bottom of PVC sheet #10.
At the end of these rods are hinges #12 which allow the cover to be folded away when not in use.
The vertical rods #13 which pass through the PVC allow the cover to keep it's shape. It is the attachment #14 at the top of these rods which allow the cover to be fitted to the drier. They slide over the arms of the drier and lock. The final side is attached to the first side by means of a zip #15. Finally the hood, which could be fastened down with studs #16 when not in use, can be put over the top and zipped around #17.
There are hoops #18 attached to the PVC #10, which allow the vertical and horizontal rods to pass through.

Claims (4)

  1. ClAIMS
    CLAIMS 1. A clothes airer cover comprises a PVC cover fitted with vertical and horizontal rods so as to maintain a solid shape when fitted. It will have a means of attaching and detaching easily from the clothes airer.
  2. 2. A clothes airer as claimed in claim no.l, where the bottom rods running horizontally will be joined by a form of hinge.
  3. 3. A clothes airer as claimed in claim no.1 or no.2 where the end side of the PVC cover is fitted to the front side of the cover by means of a zip.
  4. 4. A clothes airer as claimed in claim no.1, no.2 or no.3 where the hood could either be fastened back or fastened up.
