Abstract

A mobile phone jacket for coupling to a charger to recharge its battery has a fastening seat 11 at the back thereof. The fastening seat has a central portion and an outer peripheral portion separated by an insulator and connected to the inner side of the jacket by conductive sheets which are respectively connected to positive and negative contacts which individually contact the anode and cathode of a rechargeable battery of the mobile phone placed inside the jacket for the passage of electric current. The charger is provided with a retainer ring at a suitable place thereon. The retainer ring may be coupled to the fastening seat. The mobile phone may be fastened to the retainer ring of the charger by the fastening seat so that recharging of the battery of the mobile phone may be directly proceeded whilst the phone is in its jacket.

Description

TITLE - MOBILE PHONE JACKET FOR COUPLING TO A CHARGER The present invention relates generally to a mobile phone jacket which may be coupled to a charger, and more particularly to a jacket structure for mobile phones wherein the mobile phone may be fastened to a retainer ring of the charger by means of a fastening seat provided at the back of the jacket, thereby facilitating the process of charging the mobile phone.
Ordinary protective jackets for mobile phones primarily aim to protect the surface of the phones from possible damage and to facilitate carrying. Generally, the jacket has a fastening seat at the back side thereof, and a retainer ring matching the fastening means is provided at an outer side of a hanging element which may be fitted onto a belt. In this structure, when the user has finished using the mobile phone, the user may fasten the mobile phone onto the hanging element which is firmly fitted onto the belt by means of the fastening seat at the back side of the jacket to facilitate carrying. However, in this kind of jacket structure, when the rechargeable battery for supplying electric power to the mobile phone is almost or completely run out of energy and requires recharging, the mobile phone has to be taken out of the jacket and fitted onto the charger for recharging. This recharging process not only seems to be troublesome but in the process of recharging, the phone surface may also be scratched if the phone is inadvertently touched or pushed down.
According to the present invention there is provided a mobile phone jacket for coupling to a charger comprising a jacket, a charger, etc., wherein said jacket is for holding a mobile phone and has an electric connecting means thereof for connecting the mobile phone with said charger to directly recharge the mobile phone placed inside said jacket.
The foregoing and other features and advantages of the present invention will be more clearly understood from the following detailed description and the accompanying drawings, in which, Fig.l is a schematic view of the major components of the present invention; Fig. 2 is a first relationship drawing of the jacket and base fastening element of the present invention; Fig. 3 is a second relationship drawing of the jacket and base fastening element of the present invention; Fig. 4 is a relationship drawing of the fastening seat and retainer ring of the present invention, and Fig. 5 is a schematic view of the coupled state of the present invention.
With reference to Figs. 1, 2 and 3, the mobile phone jacket for coupling to a charger mainly comprises a jacket 1 and a charger 2 wherein the jacket 1 is for holding a mobile phone 4 and has a base fastening element 5 at the bottom side thereof for securing the mobile phone 4 placed inside the jacket 1.
The base fastening element 5 is substantially a Jshaped structure (as shown in Fig. 4), a front end thereof having an upwardly bent hook plate 53 with a curve matching the shape of the bottom edge of the mobile phone, and two insulated contacts 51, 52 are provided at suitable positions on the base fastening element 5.
The above jacket 1 is provided with a fastening seat 11 at the back side thereof, the fastening seat 11 (as shown in Fig. 4) having a central portion 111 and an outer peripheral portion 112 separated by an insulator 113 and connected respectively to the inner side of the jacket 1 by conductive sheets 114, 115 (as shown in Fig. 2) which are respectively connected to the positive contact 51 and the negative contact 52 on the base fastening element 5, and these contacts 51, 52 may individually contact the anode and cathode of a rechargeable battery of the mobile phone 4 placed inside the jacket 1 for the passage of electric current, and a diode 55 is arranged on the conductive sheet 114 connected to the positive contact 51 for controlling the direction of the flow of electric current.
In addition, the above base fastening element 5 may be configured to be an L-shaped element (as shown in Fig. 3) according to various designs of mobile phones. The L-shape base fastening element 5 may be configured to have two side plates 54 at the two lateral sides of the outer edges thereof for enveloping the outer lateral edges of the bottom portion of the mobile phone 4 so as to secure the phone in place and to prevent deviation of contact between the contacts 51, 52 on the base fastening element 5 and the contacts on the mobile phone 4.
The charger 2 is provided with a retainer ring 21 at a suitable place thereon (as shown in Figs. 1 and 4), the retainer ring 21 having a central portion 211 and an outer peripheral portion 21-2 separated by an insulator 213 and connected respectively to a positive pole and a negative pole of a charging circuit of the charger 2 by means of wires 214, 215. In addition, the retainer ring 21 may be coupled to the fastening seat 11 (as shown in Fig. 5), and its central portion 211 and outer peripheral portion 212 may be individually connected to the central portion 111 and outer peripheral portion 112 of the fastening seat 11 for the passage of electric current.
According to the above-described structure, as shown in Figs. 1 and 5,' when the user has finished using the mobile -phone 4, he may fasten the phone to the retainer ring 21 of the charger 2 by means of the fastening seat 11 at the back of the -jacket 1 so that recharging of the battery of the mobile phdne 4 may be directlyproceeded without the need to take the mobile phone 4 out of the jacket 1 and place it on thecharger 2 for recharging In-this manner, recharging of battery is made more facile and simple, and at the same time, possible scratching of the phone surface may be prevented.
Although the present invention has been illustrated and described with reference to the preferred embodiment thereof, it should be understood that it is in no way limited to the details of such embodiment but is capable of numerous modifications within the scope of the appended claims.
