Abstract
229,413. Smith, C. B. Nov. 28, 1923. Stands.-A stand for supporting and connecting in series a number of flash lamp batteries comprises upper and lower plates 2, 1 connected by end pieces or pillars 3, the lower plate being grooved as shown at 4 to receive the curved ends of the batteries. The upper plate carries a number of connecting strips 8 attached to the plate by pins 5 the heads 6 of which make contact with the long terminal strips 9 of the batteries. The forward ends 11 of the strips 8 are bent upwardly and outwardly as shown in Fig. 3 to engage the short terminal strips 10 of the batteries which are also bent upwards to engage under the bent ends 11 of the strips 8. The upper ends of the pins 5 may be split or provided with holes to receive plug contacts. The stand may be constructed to hold one or two rows of batteries.
