Abstract

A vehicle immobiliser has a metal case 5 with security lock 1 which incorporates two anti tamper devices 2 and 6 which isolate the control switches i.e for fuel and electrics from any attempt to operate without use of the correct key. If the lock barrel 1 is forced it cams upwardly on the fixed block 2 shearing the studs 1A, spring 4 disengages the drive to switches 7 and a security plate 6 blocks access thereto. <IMAGE>

Description

VEHICLE INMOBILISER This invention relates to a vehicle fuel and electrical isolation system.
Isolation systems are common form of a vehicle security used to immobilise either the fuel or the electrical systems of the engine by a standard key switch system.
Normal isolation systems are overridable by applied force to the key switch system.
According to the present invention there is provided a dual level anti-tamper system to isolate the controls from the key switch in the event of attempted forced operation.
A specific embodiment of the invention will now be described by way of example with reference to the accompanying drawing in which : Figure 1 shows in perspective the immobiliser unit Figure 2 shows detail of the lower security plate open and closed.
Referring to the drawing the immobiliser comprises a solid metal outer case 5, a security lock 1, a fixed security collar 2, an operating shaft 3, a spring 4, security plate 6, isolation units 7.
Any attempt to force lock Fig. 1 will cause fixing bolts fig. 1A to shear by upward force applied by contour of security collar Fig 2. this will cause spring loaded shaft Fig 3 to disengage from isolating units Fig 7 allowing security plate Fig 6 to close access to isolation units Fig 7.

Claims (1)

1/ A vehicle isolation system comprising of a solid metal case incorporating a security lock and remote isolation units 2/ A vehicle isolation systems as claimed in 1 where-in the security lock is lifted upwards when forced.
3/ A vehicle isolation system as claimed in claim 1 or claim 2 where-in the operating shaft, shaft is lifted clear of isolation units by spring pressure.
4/ A vehicle isolation system as claimed in claim 1 or claim 2 or claim 3 where-in the security-plate isolates the operating shaft from the isolation units.
5/ A vehicle isolation system substantially as described herein with reference to Figure 1-3 of the accompanying drawing.
