Abstract
A vehicle anti-theft device comprises a clutch and brake immobiliser having a shell and a locking bar (2) which slides through a slotted sleeve (3) and through a sleeve (4) and then into a lock (5) welded to the shell. The device is slid over the clutch (7) and brake pedal (8) and around the steering column (8), the locking bar (2) is then pushed through the sleeves (3) and (4) and into the lock (5) behind the steering column, thus preventing the clutch and brake from being used. <IMAGE>

TEHNICAL DESCRIPTION
"CLUTCH & BRAKE IMMOBILISER"
THIS INVENTION RELATES TO A CLUTCH & BRAKE IMMOBILISER
FOR COMMERCIAL VEHICLES:
COMMERCIAL VEHICLES ARE GENERALLY STOLEN AT NIGHT. THE "CLUTCH AND BRAKE IMMOBILISER" CAN BE QUICKLY AND EASILY
FITTED. IT IS AN EFFECTIVE DETERRENT AGAINST STEALING
COMMERCIAL VEHICLES. PRESENT SAFETY DEVICES ARE EASILY
BYPASSED.
THE "CLUTCH AND BRAKE IMMOBILISER" CAN BE FITTED
TO ALL COMMERCIAL VEHICLES.
IT MAY VARY SLIGHTLY IN SIZE AND SHAPE FROM VEHICLE TO
VEHICLE BUT THE LOCKING PRINCIPLE WILL REMAIN THE SAME
THROUGHOUT.
A SPECIFIC EMBODIMENT OF THE INVENTION WILL NOW BE
DESCRIBED BY WAY OF EXAMPLE WITH REFERENCE TO THE
ACCOMPANYING DRAWINGS IN WHICH:

IMMOBILISER SHELL COMPRISES OF A LOCKING BAR(2) WHICH SLIDES
THROUGH SLOTTED SLEEVE (3) AND THROUGH SLEVE (4) AND THEN
PUSHED INTO THE LOCK(5). THE LOCK IS WELDED TO (1) THE LOCKING
BAR(2) IS UNLOCKED WITH A KEY(6).
WORKING PRINCIPAL
FIRST REMOVE THE LOCKING BAR(2). THEN SLIDE THE DEVICE OVER
THE CLUTCH(7) AND BRAKE PEDAL(8) AND PASS THE STEERING
COLUMN(9). THE LOCKING BAR( 2) IS THEN PUSHED THROUGH THE
SLEEVES (3) & (4) AND INTO THE LOCK(5) BEHIND THE STEERING
COLUMN. THUS PREVENTING THE CLUTCH AND BRAKE FROM BEING USED.
"THE CLUTCH AND BRAKE IMMOBILISER" MAY VARY IN SIZE FROM
VEHICLE TO VEHICLE. THE LOCKING PRINCIPLE WILL REMAIN THE
SAME.
Claims (6)
1. THE "CLUTCH AND BRAKE IMMOBILISER" WITH TWO SIDE PLATES. A
LOCKING MECHANISM AND AUXILLARY FIXING BRACKET (OPTIONAL).
2. THE "CLUTCH AND BRAKE IMMOBILISER" AS CLAIMED IN CLAIM 1
AND WHEREIN THE LOCKING MECHANISM OF WHICH THE SLEEVES AND
THE LOCK ARE WELDED TO THE UNDERSIDE OF THE SHELL.
3. THE "CLUTCH AND BRAKE IMMOBILISER" AS CLAIMED IN CLAIM 1
OR CLAIM 2 COMPRISING THE LOCKING BAR WHICH SLIDES THROUGH
THE SLEEVES INTO THE FIXED LOCK.
4. THE "CLUTCH AND BRAKE IMMOBILISER" AS CLAIMED IN ANY
PRECEEDING CLAIM COMPRISING OF A LIF ON THE LOCKING BAR
AND GROOVE ON THE SLEEVE THUS PREVENTING THE LOCKING BAR
FROM ROTATING IN THE LOCK.
5. THE "CLUTCH AND BRAKE IMMOBILISER" AS CLAIMED IN CLAIM 1 OR
CLAIM 2 COMPRISES AN AUXILLARY FIXING BRACKET WELDED TO THE
REAR VERTICAL. PANEL OF THE SHELL. IT IS USED AS AN OPTION
FOR STABILISING THE "CLUTCH AND BRAKE IMMOBILISER".
6. "CLUTCH AND BRAKE IMMOBILISER" SUBSTANTIALLY AS
DESCRIBED HEREIN WITH REFERENCE TO FIGURES 1 - 6 OF THE
ACCOMPANYING DRAWING.
