PEDAL ROUNDABOUT TECHNICAL FIELD: This invention relates to a 'Pedal RounJabout.' (Backgound).....

Nonocycles, bicycles and tricycles are well established systems which utilise a pedal device to provide mechanical propulsion. Such system often operate by weans of a chain and sprocket arrangenent which translates circular pedal lotion into aotion, thereby propelling the device forward.

However, such devices are often used on public roads with the consequent hazard to life Posed by road traffic conditions, The Present invention allows safe use of a pedal device to provide exercise for children. Allied with greater safety since the unit can be installed within a liiited garden area.

(Essential Technical Features).....

This invention provides for a pedal operated aonocycle device comprising a wheeled ono-cycle chassis and a circular track on which the device revolves. It also provides for a central spigot. As part of the track device froi which a horizontal bar is attached by weans of a universal joint. The other end of this horizontal bar fixed to the wheeled w no-cycle chassis. The track also contains a contoured surface built in sections. The conbinations of features provides a stable device which has horizontal and liaited vertical aoveaent.

Referring to the drawing 1 of the pedal roundabout, coiprises a aonocycle chassis 'A' and a circular contoured track 'B'. Stabiliser bars are fitted across the track 'C'. A central spigot 'D' and a universal joint are attached to a bar which connects onto the Pedal cycle unit. When the pedals are turned the cycle (or Pedal Roundabout) travels forward on the track in a circle firmly attached by Bar 'E' to the sPisot'D'. The presence of contours on the track give a different vertical diiension to the forward action.

Claims (5)

CLAIMS:

1. A pedal roundabout, coaprising a pedal operated onocycle device and a circular track with built- in contours and stabilising bars provided attached to the track. A central spigot as part of the track device froi which by a universal joint a horizontal bar links onto the nonocycle.

2. A pedal roundabout as claimed in Claia 1 where contours are built into the track to facilitate a degree of vertical aotion.

3. A pedal roundabout as claiaed in Claim 1 or Claim 2 whereby circular lotion applied to the pedals provides forward notion in a circular direction AROUND A FIXED POINT.

4. Claia as per Claia 1, 2 and 3 but provided that the Pedal roundabout is equipped with brakes to control the deceleration of the device.

5. A Pedal roundabout as claiaed with a collapsible sectioned track.
