Abstract

228,621. Wilson, J. E., Wilson, J. Y., and Mathison, W. Nov. 7,1923. Multiple-bolt fastenings, - Doors of cold storage chambers &c. are secured and jammed tightly into their seatings by a number of bolts taking into tapered sockets and operated from either side of the door by a spirally ribbed disc engaging racks on the bolts. The disc a has a spiral rib a<1> engaging racks c<1> on each of the bolts c and is operated from either side of the door bv handles connected bv a spindle b. The sockets e for the bolt ends are tapered so as to wedge the door into its seating. The hinge members have hinge pins working in elongated slots to allow the necessary lateral movement of the door to jam it into its seating. The door has a tapering fit in the seating to facilitate close fitting.
