Balances, stays for. -The knifeedged ends of stays for use in weighing-apparatus are rendered self-adjusting by pivoting them to the main body of the stay. As applied to a French stay, each knife-edged end 6 may be pivoted to the body 5 by a headed rivet 7 or by a pin secured to the body, thus allowing the end 6 automatically to adjust itself relative to the coacting leg of the scale mechanism.
