Abstract
228,317. Chalmer, E. Dec. 31, 1923. Curtains, drawing and suspending.-A substantially U-shaped curtain runner, provided with wheels or rollers c<2>, is formed of two arms a<2> pivoted together at their lower ends, means being provided for locking the members a<2> together at different angles to suit curtain poles of various sizes. In the construction shown in Fig. 1, the arms a<2> are locked together by a lever i having a bearing in one arm a<2> and engaging one of a series of holes k in the other arm. In a modification, shown in Fig. 5, the arms a<2> are adjustably locked by a screw q passing through one arm and engaging a screwed hole in a member l passing through the other arm. The journals for the wheels &c. may be provided by pins secured in the free ends of the arms a<2> which are of channel section or the ends of the arms themselves may be pressed tubular and provided with flanged sleeves. The wheels &c. may be made of vulcanite &c. or of metal with rubber tyres and provided with treads making line contact with the curtain pole.
