Abstract

A car pedal lock has a body of an oblong metal casing K which encases the pedals B of the car so in an attempt of a break in, it is a deterrent to potential car thieves. The oblong box has studs or legs G at each corner so that the height of the box can be adjusted for all makes of motor vehicles. A plate D is adjustably mounted in the box to prevent the pedals moving. A lock mechanism is also placed on top of the metal box so the driver of the vehicle can feel secure that the car is immovable, as the throttle, brake and clutch are securely covered, the thief cannot start the vehicle or move it forwards. <IMAGE>

Description

Y PEDAL LOCK This invention relates to the pedal lock.
This idea is ideally for securing the car. It is of a steel box design or equally tough or hard wearing material. The box encases the clutch, brake and accelerator.
The design of the box is oblong in shape with a 45 degree angle at the back. The box has studs or legs at each corner. The studs or legs can be tightened or loosened to adjust the box with an allen key.
Inside the box there is a moveable plate which tightens underneath the pedals. At the top of the legs set in the moveable plate there maybe some form of roller bearing.
This allows the movement on top of the bolt, so it may in turn thread through the hole of the underside of the box.
This allows the studs or legs to be moved up and down, and so adjusting the height from the floor of the car.
The box has three slits at the back to allow the pedals to be placed in the box and a hinge at the front to enable the box to open. The locking system maybe a traditional key, or combination, but can be placed at the designers discretion.
Car theft is on the increase so this invention is a deterrent for potential car thieves.
In the event of a break-in the car thief will find the car totally immobile, because he cannot start the car. or move the vehicle forward.
Also with this idea apart from your car being safe. Joy riding will be difficult if not impossibe thus saving lifer property, police time, insurance companies money and your car.
KEY To DIAGRAM (A) Hinge to allow opening and closing of the box.
(B) Throttle pedal in car.
(C) Allen keys (or bolts) to allow moveable plates to go up or down.
(D) Floating plates to allow tightening up under throttle, clutch, brake so they can not be moved in the box.
(E) Thread in bottom of box to allow leg (bolts) to thighten and release to adjust the height so that the box is tight under the pedals.
(F) Roller bearing so Allen key and bolt can turn in moveable plate.
(G) Studs or legs. The legs (or studs) can go up or down to adjust the height of different models of car.
(H) Floor or base of the car.
(I) Metal plate to stop box being pulled forward, so it is rigid in place.
(J) Lock, either key or combination.
(K) Steel or similar material to make box thief proof.
(L) Slits to allow pedals into box.

Claims (1)

  1. (1) A car pedal lock comprises of a body in the form of a steel oblong box, with a 4 degree angle at the back. The box has studs or legs at each corner of the box which can be tightened or loosened to adjust the height of the box with an Allen key.
Inside the box is a movable plate which tightens underneath the pedals. At the top of the legs set in the movable plate there maybe some form of roller bearing. This allows the movement on top of the bolt, so it may in turn thread through the hole of the underside of the box. This allows the studs or legs to be moved up or down, so adjusting the height from the floor of the car.
    (2) A car pedal lock as claimed in claim one has three slits at the back to enable the pedals to be placed in the box.
    (3) A car pedal lock as claimed in any proceeding claim has a hinged lid set at the front to enable the box to open.
    (4) A car pedal lock as claimed in one, two and three has also a locking system, which maybe placed at the designers discretion.
    (5) A car pedal lock as claimed in claim on, could have an alternative jack system which instead of the adjustable leg being threaded through the box and adjusted with Allen keys, it could be adjusted by pumping it up with an hydraulic system to fit under the pedals, which also can be released by a turn of a switch. This could be especially useful for women drivers or disabled drivers who may have trouble fitting the car pedal lock.
    (6) A car pedal lock as claimed in claim one alternatively could be a smaller box, which may fit over one or combination of car pedals e.g. a single box over the throttle or brake and throttle combination, instead of fitting the box over all three pedals as claimed in claim one.
