Abstract

An intervening socket (A) is connected by a cable (B) to a sensor (C) which is designed to be placed in the exhaust of a domestic clothes dryer, the sensor sends a signal to the socket when the humidity of the air from the dryer has fallen to a predetermined value and a resettable cut-out is then activated on the socket (A) into which the dryer has been plugged. Alternatively (not illustrated), a cut-out is incorporated on the plug-top of the dryer. The dryer is thus stopped at a desired dryness of the clothes. <IMAGE>

Description

AUTOMATIC CUT-OFF SWITCH FOR ELECTRICAL DRYING APPARATUS This invention relates to an automatic cut-out device for an elecrical drying apparatus.
Conventional electrical drying apparatus (such as cloth drying machines or bowl drying machines); Normally use a timer to control drying time, that is the drying time is set by the user. Who uses there own judgment as to how long the articles of clothing will thake to dry, Which is gess work.
This invention intends to do away with the hit and miss element of drying clothing and the waste of energy and over use of drying machines as well as extra wear and tear.
This ivvention comprises of an interim socket(A) incorperating cut out switch, lenth cable (B) and a humidity cencer (C).
The interim socket(A) is placed in a normal 13 amp wall socket, the dryers electrical plug is then placed in the interim socket (A).
The humidity cencor (C) is placed in the exhust of the dryer (normely in the exhust ducting) the cencor is set to detect a predetermined amount of humidity. When the predetermined amount of humidity is acheved a signal is passed a long ths electrical cable (B) to the interim socket (A) Which automaticly cut the power supply to the drying apparatus plug, by means of a popout: cutout switch. Which is reset when used again

Claims (5)

  1. CLAIMS 1/ A automatic cut off switch for electrical drying apparatus comprising, humidity cesor, electrical cable and cut out socket/switch or plug. Means for stopping a conventional electrical drying apparatus (such as cloth drying machines or bowl drying machines) which normally us a timer to switch off drying machine.
  2. 2/ A automatic cut off switch for electrical drying apparatus as claimed in Claim 1 where in a humidity censor is used to determine when articles being dried have reached a set required dryness.
  3. 3/ A automatic cut off switch for electrical drying apparatus as claimed in Claim 1 or Claim 2 where in the power to the electrical drying apparatus is cut off by means of a cut out switch, which is located in or on the power supply.
  4. 4/ A automatic cut off switch for electical drying apparatus as claimed in Claim 1 or Claim 2 or Claim 3 where in the cut out switch can be either a cut out socket to which the drying apparatus is pluged into or a cut out plug which can be attached in place of the regular electrical plug used by the drying apparatus.
  5. 5. A device as claimed in Claim 1 substantially as hereinbefore described with reference to the accompanying drawing.
5/ A automatic cut off switch for electrical drying apparatus.
As claimed in Claims 1 or Claim 2 or Claim 3 or Claim 4 where in the humidity cesor is placed in the exhust of the drying machine and activates a cut out switch, when the relevant humidity/dryness required is acheved.
6/ A automatic cut off switch for electrical drying apparatus as claimed in Claims 1 to 5 where in the humidity cesor and the cut out devise are conected by means of a electrical cable.
7/ A automatic cut off switch for electrical drying apparatus as claimed in Claim 1 where in is designed to be, added to any existing drying apparatus in use, as well as any new apparatus to more acceratly dry articles in the shortest period of time with minimal power consuption.
Amendments to the claims have been filed as follows 1. An automatic cut-off device for an electrical drying apparatus, comprising a humidity sensor designed to be placed to sense the humidity of air from an electrically powered drying apparatus, which is electrically connected to a socket to receive the plug for the power supply to said apparatus, and a cut-out means to discontinue the power of said socket when a signal is received from the sensor that the humidity of said air has fallen to S predetermined value 2. A device as claimed in Claim 1, wherein tne humidity sensor is designed to be placed with at least part thereof in the exhaust of a clothes drying machine.
    3. A device as claimed in Claim 1 or 2, wherein the cut-out means is a resettable cut-out switch actuated by a signal from the sensor.
    4. A device as claimed in Claim 1 or 2, wherein the cut-out means consists of an electrical plug which is connected to the drying apparatus.
