Abstract

Apparatus for ultrasonic cleaning of waterproof footwear whilst being worn comprises peizoelectric transducers coupling ultrasonic frequency to the cleaning liquid. An automatic sensor 6 may detect the presence of personnel and activate the device. The apparatus may be used in a food factory, and may be associated with a hand washing facility. <IMAGE>

Description

THE DESCRIPTION This invention relates to a BOOT WASH INCORPORATING ULTRASOUND.
Hygiene in food producing factories is very important. Workers are required to wash their hands with soap on entering and, in many cases, clean their footwear. Various mechanical machines exist for cleaning wellington boots but not with great success.
By standing in an ultrasonic bath, preferably whilst hand washing, an efficient boot cleansing is carried out, with no effort.
The ultrasonic bath consists of a tank (1) with an optional immersion heater (2) to maintain the waterldetergent solution at an optimum temperature, ultrasonic transducers (3) below a grating (4) on which the person stands. The Generator (5) is housed separately in a convenient place. Automatic sensors (6) detect the presence of personnel and activate the generator at the appropriate time.

Claims (1)

  1. An ultrasonic bath comprising of peizoelectric transducers coupling ultrasonic frequency to the cleaning liqud to decontaminate waterproof footwear whilst being worn.
