227,436. Tecalemit, Ltd., (Assignees of Fesler, D. F.). Jan. 10, 1924, [Convention date]. Single-acting suction-valveless piston pumps, suction reservoirs. - Lubricant is supplied to a bearing nipple 17 from a compressor comprising a plunger 7 working in a cylinder formed in a rigid discharge conduit 6 at one end of a barrel 5, the conduit 6 being adapted to be detachably coupled by an axial movement of the compressor to the nipple 17 by flanges 37 engaging an annular groove 18 on the nipple. The plunger 7 passes through a gland 8 in a cap 10 and is provided with a handle 15. A split ring 14 mounted in a groove on the plunger limits its outward movement. The plunger is retracted by a spring 16. The flanges 37 are provided on a member 22 threaded into the conduit 6 and having a threaded bore 30 at rightangles to the barrel 5. One end of the bore 30 is closed by a plug 34 and in the other end is threaded a cup-leather 31 held in place by a threaded collar 32. The bottom of the cup-leather is pressed against the nipple by a spring 36. Lubricant is forced by the plunger 7 past a non- return valve 26 into the bore 30 and through a hole 33 in the cup-leather into the nipple.
