Abstract

A module for use with apparatus comprising a light-source and focussing means for producing decorative lighting effects, comprises at least two translucent films 10, 16 each bearing at least one image selected from the group comprising lenticular, kinetic or prismatic images, means for providing relative movement between at least two of the films, and a support mounting the films such that a beam of light can be arranged to shine through at least of position of the films. Suitably one film is rotated relative to the other. The lightening effects may be used in discotheques. <IMAGE>

Claims (7)

  1. Claims 1. A module for use with apparatus comprising a lightsource and focusing means for producing decorative lighting effects; the module comprising at least two translucent films each bearing at least one image selected from lenticular, kinetec or prismatic images, means for provising relative movement between at least two of the films, and a support mounting the films such that a beam of light can be arranged to shine through at least of portion of the films.
  2. 2. A module as claimed in claim 1 in which said means for providing relative movement is arranged to rotate one of the films about an axis normal to the plane of the film relative to the other or at least one of the other films.
  3. 3. A module as claimed in claim 2 in which said means providing relative movement comprises a motor arranged to partially or fully rotate one of the films relative to another film which remains stationery in the module.
  4. 4. A module as claimed in claim 2 in which said means for providing relative movement comprises at least one motor arranged to rotate said at least two films at different angular velocities.
  5. 5. Apparatus for producing a decorative lighting effect comprising a module as claimed in any of claims 1 to 4 together with a light source and focusing means, the apparatus being arranged such that light from the light source passes in use through the films and is then focused by the focussing means for viewing on a screen or otherwise.
  6. 6. Apparatus substantially as hereinbefore described with reference to Fig.2 of the accompanying drawings.
  7. 7. Apparatus substantially as hereinbefore described with reference to Fig.5 of the accompanying drawings.
