Abstract
The two-in-one toilet seat allows children to sit comfortably on a standard toilet minimising fear and promoting safer, less stressful toilet training. The novel design also eliminates the need to purchase detachable adaptor seats or potty chairs that create bathroom clutter in the bathroom and around the house. When not in use, this innovative unit simply lifts out of the way to allow normal toilet use by adults. <IMAGE>
Description
TWO-IN-ONE TOILET SEAT
This invention relates to a unique bathroom accessory, a modified toilet seat incorporating a second seat especially for children.
Toilet training for children is stressful for both the child and parent, so there is a need to look for a detatchable toilet training adaptor seat that fits exactly the seat at home. A small fit would cause the seat and the child to fall into the toilet, or a large fit would spring up with the child - a traumatic experience for the child. Moreover these products create clutter in the bathroom or a potty chair creates clutter around the house.
According to the present invention there is provided a two-in-one toilet seat allowing small children to safely and comfortably use a "grown-up" toilet. It is a modified toilet seat that would incorporate a smaller child size seat underneath the lid and the standard seat, for the child who is toilet training that could be pulled down when needed. When not in use, the small seat could be secured in the lid by means of a magnet so as not to interfere with useage of the toilet seat by adults.
This two-in-one toilet seat designed especially for a child, he/she would be encouraged to use the toilet, and the toilet training could be achieved more quickly and easily and would eliminate the fear associated with use of a regular toilet that is experienced by many children who are toilet training. A useful accessory for the handicapped child or parent. The feature minimises fear, safer because the child could not fall into the toilet and would be permanantly attatched, would eliminate the need to look for the detatchable adaptor seat or potty chair. It would always be ready for the child and would be a space saver by eliminating the need for other toilet training products. It would also be sanitarily easy to clean.
The specific embodiment of the invention is described by way of example with reference to the accompanying drawing in which: Figure 1. shows in perspective the two-in-one toilet seat.
Referring to the drawing, the two-in-one toilet seat comprises of a small, child size toilet seat attached to a pivot rod between the standard seat and the lid.
The second seat secures to the lid with magnets when not in use to allow normal toilet use by adults.
