Description
SPECIFICATION
A combination toilet bowl seat
This invention relates to an improved seat for conventional toilet bowl, and more particularly to a toilet bowl seat which is combined a child-use seat into the inner circumference of adult-use seat to form a combination toilet bowl seat and define a substantially smooth upper curvature surface of seat so as to provide a comfortable usage for both adults and children without any inconveniences.
As well known, the conventional flush toilet seats are almost designed pursuant to the physical constitution of adults, so it is inevitable that their seat-holes are generally rather too large for the babies and children who may fall into the toilet bowl whenever they placed thereupon for usage. To meet this requirement, there has been proposed a bowl seat for child-adult's common use to overcome the aforesaid shortcomings. Although it may be somewhat satisfactory to both children and adults usage, however, it is so designed that the child-seat, thus further increasing its total height from the floor, which in turn beomes too high for the children to climb over and to be uncomfortable for them to use it, it also will have sideways movements and could not keep it at standstill on the adult-seat.Furthermore, such child-use seat was defined in a position of being too much forward which often caused the children's excrements droppin mostly in the front portion of the bowl, which consequently becomes a nuisance for the thorough cleansing of the bowl. Moreover, for the sanitary purposes, after using, people used to have the seat cover put on the whole bowl seat every time, since such child-use seat is surperposed entirely upon the adult-use seat, before using, the adults will have to lift the seat cover up first and then the child-use seat, after using contrary steps to the former will also be positively required to be done.
Obviously such construction of toilet bowl seat always makes people feel much more tedious and inconvenient.
SUMMARY OF THE DISCLOSURE
Accordingly, this invention aims primarily at the elimination of the aforesaid shortcomings and provides a child-use seat incorporated as a part of adult-use seat wherein the upper surface of both seats constitutes a smooth slopping curvature so as to facilitate children's usage and render a tender feeling for whoever sits thereupon.
Another objective of this invention is to provide an improved toilet bowl seat whereby when the child seat is integrally positioned into the inner circumference of adult-use seat, it can ensure a secured stability without sideways movements whatsoever.
These and other objects of the present invention will become more apparent from the ensuing disclosure and appended claims.
BRIEF DESCRIPTION OF THE DRAWINGS
In the drawings,
Figure 1 is a perspective view of a preferred embodiment in accordance with the present invention wherein a portion is cut out to clearly show the profile construction thereof;
Figure 2 is a perspective view of a preferred embodiment in accordance with this invention showing the child-use seat in the manner for being lift up;
Figure 3 is a sectional side view of Fig. 1 wherein for simplicity, the portion of seat cover is omitted;
Figure 4 is a sectional side view of Fig. 2; and.
Figures 5A and 5B are enlarged perspective views of two preferred embodiment of coupling means in accordance with the present invention.
DETAILED DESCRIPTION OF THE INVEN
TION
Referring first to Figs. 1 and 2 of the drawings, it can be seen that the combination toilet bowl seat in accordance with the invention is to provide a child-use seat 20 with a smaller seat-hole 23 upon the inner circular seating surface 11 of the adult-use seat 10, the outer circumference 21 of the child-use seat 20 is curved into the complementary curvature profile of the inner circular seating surface 11 of the adult seat 10. A notch 12 is provided at the rear edge of the adult seat 10 to retain a hinge member 22 of the child-use seat 20 and to clasp both sides of the hinge member 22 so as to enable the outer circumference 21 of the child seat 20 firmly securing into the inner circumference of the adult seat 10 so that the whole combined seats will remain stable when it is put down in the manner for use.
To facilitate the usage of the invention, a coupling means is further provided for engaging the seat cover 30 with child seat 20. In accordance with this invention, the preferred embodiment of the coupling means includes a coupling hole 24 at suitable place in the front portion of the child seat 20 and a two-piece clamp 31 inside of the seat cover 30 as shown in Figs. 5A and 5B, the two-piece clamp 31 is formed as a taper-cone and at the girdle being and outwardly annular projecting ring 314 (see Fig. 5A), and its cylindrical bottom 316 is engaged into a recess 33 which is integrally formed with a seat cover 30, during assembly, by using a suitable adhesive or welding by application of heat in an appropriate manner.It is to be noted that the configuration of the bottom of the clamp 31 may be otherwise formed as male threads (Fig. 5B) and female threads also being formed in the recess 33, while an annular groove 31 5 is cut at the girdle thereof instead of ring 314 and thus no adhesive or welding is additionally required.Preferably, the clamp 31 is made of a soft and resilient plastic material and the diameter of the projecting ring 314 or the larger portion 31 3 of the taper-cone is slight larger than that of the coupling hole 24, so that the clamp 31 will readily pass through the coupling hole 24 to actuate a resilient effect and that the child seat 20 will be coupled onto the seat cover 30 as desired, that is, when the seat is no longer needed for use and better be covered, the seat cover 30 will also clasp the child seat 20 at the same time, so that the latter will act as the former does in unison. When the adult desires to use the combined seats of this invention, he will simply have to lift up the cover 30, and by so doing he can also readily lift the child seat 20 up simultaneously, and no tedius operations of the conventionals will be needed. Besides, for the purposes of children's convenient usage, there is still a predetermined space left between the child seat 20 and the seat cover 30 by providing a stopper 32 i.e. the top end of recess 33, surrounding the lower portion of claim 31 to enable the fingers to reach and to put down the child seat 20 when it is desired to use.
