Abstract

The waste water diverter is made of plastic and is approx. 16 centimeters long (6') and 8 centimeters wide (3'). It is of a cylindrical shape so that it would fit onto an existing downpipe whether it be metal, plastic or oven square with the aid of an adaptor. Inset in the waste water diverter, is a simple butterfly valve which is turned by a lever on the outside of the body to shut off water supply to the drain. The valve operates on a 180 degree turn to open or close. When the valve is closed the water is sent through an outlet which is situated above the valve and can have a hosepipe fitted or a tap for a more controlled supply. The waste water diverter as the name implies can divert water that may have gone to the drain, to be used for other purposes i.e. bath water, washing water to wash the patio or it can save rain water that can be diverted to a water tank. <IMAGE>

Claims (1)

  1. CLAIMS.
    A wASTE WATER DIVERTER comprising of a plastic body in the form of a section of round downpipe whether square or round with the aid of an adaptor.
    In the centre of the diverter, is a plastic butterfly valve which is controlled by a lever on the outside of the diverter, which when turned 180 degrees would shut off any flow direct to the drain.
    Therefore forcing the water to divert through a nozzle which is just above the valve to be used immediatley or saved in a water butt.
    The nozzle can be used to connect a hosepipe or tap as required.
    But the main aim of the WATER DIVERTER is its ability to divert bath water, shower water, washing water for other uses.
    Or to be saved in a water tank which could be purified.
    It also has the option to collect rain water.
