&-he present invenzion there is for a disposable respirazo.r element a former shaDed or shaDable for holdina zhe element over the mouth and nostrils, and a member of or associated with the holder and in use witn the respirator element zo urge iz head band the wearer 1 r, io is 2 in-no sea-,, -ina enaaaemenz w-itP, zhe face of the wearer to provide a sealing boundary with the face of the wearer.
Such a res-i-lient- member enables the disposable --Lemen-- resuirator to achieve leakage performance of less than 2 1/2%.
The shell or holder has some degree of rigidity rendering shape sustaii ning so as to back up operaition r-=si-L-! eri- -Tr.embe-- giving a surlace aga,nst uT.Iiicn 1 - L it can react directly or indirectly. The resilient member desirably extends to define a peripheral sealing boundary and it is preferred for the shell or holder"&--o have a Deripheral rim, groove or other formation preferably continuous to carry the resilient member.
The respirator mask resilient member and the shell or a sandwich construction when viewed in resilient member to be interposed between the latter. The resilient member may be such as a receiving groove or spaced lugs or former, or secured with such as Replacement resilient members can be former form section, with the former and a push fit in of the shell adhesive. supplied.
The above described resilient member may be applied to a holder adapted to be carried by eye. protection means. I4E also has application to a holder having other types of locating means such as a simple elasticazed fixina.

The holder is illustrated as pre-shaped 3-di m ensional member, say as a moulded plastLic part with a plurality o--. air noies 5, althouah will be underszood --hat other rtia-t-er-Jals could be used, and lit may exhibit some flexibility for Comfort although this is not essential.
Also shown are a pair of safety spectacles 7 utilising our unique arrangement of having ear locations by way of ear cups 9 (providing hearing attenuation protection) mounted adjustably at the end of the spectacle arms 11 as at 15 in the case of Figure 3a. The holder depends from the spectacles 7 'which acts as a carrier, and for that purpose connection means 17 are provided.
Three connection points are provided between the holder 1 and the carrier 7 and it is preferred to use a substantially identical construction for each connection as shown -in greater detail in Figure 4. The preferred connection 17 provides variable adjustment of one porzion 19, relative to its connection wit-h the carrier. in the illustrated embodiment the portion!01 is a striplike formation of the holder which is received slidably 9 io af ordina near n r a coupiel- d --, r e ct ion ofIE arrow A, acitually preferred as a step wise adjusrmen-L'-- for which the formation has alternative L-ransverse troughs and ribs 23 with which bars 25 cooperate. The coupler has a chamber which is receivec on a spherical lug 27 to afford swivelling o-IE the coupler relative 4---- the carrier as Dv arrOws B.C. The lug 27 may be integrall -w4th the carr2er or, L- - - -L as illustrated, in the form of a separate part which is received in a bore in the carrier part.
One of t-he connections 17 is disi)osed central - ly in the region of the bridge of the spectacles and the lug 27 passes through a bore in the plano lens 29. The other two connections are with arm parits off the spectacles which carry respective lugs 27 with the formation 19 being at the end of wing-1like parts 20 extending to opposite sides of the shell.
Figure 7 illustrates an alternative embodiment in which the connection 17 with the arms are as described above, but the central connection 171 is modified and is in the form of a hinge --like mechanism which in the illustrated embodiment comprises snap together male 191 and female 211 parts having partciz-cular cooperating parts for hinaing. purposes as ind'cated by arrow A'. The connec'Lon means mrovides for adlustment to suit -ind--,,v-idual facilal character ist- i cs and preferences for contac zt pres sure. The arrangement avoids the need for an elasticated head band for holding the respirator in position.
The first connection means described hereinbefore provides for upward and downward positLons of the holder wii th respect - to the saf ety eye wear, bur= it is also advantageous to be able to provide forward and outward adjustment. Figure 6 illustrates a --'E-i--StL connection which achieves this by providing the strip 19 as a Dart 191 separate from the holder and having its end 60 remote from the connection 21 received in ratchet like manner in a further connector 211 wnich is carried pivotally by 'L-.he holder. Thus, connect-ion 21 provides uDward and downward movement indicated by arrows C as we!.- as a swivel movement in three planes by a ball 7 arrangement indicated by arrows D, E, and the further connector 211 provides adjuszmenz in the forward and of af.',--wa--c direc-tJons as inciica.=eA as well as a y arrow 1 _. - y of a rotational novemen denoted by arrow bl., 1 7 journal connection to the holder. The connection piece has slots to receive an elasticated Elexible plastics head band 72 which connects with a f band/harness 74.
Figure 10 shows speczacles 71, although they could be goggles, with connection piece 70 attached which in turn comes the head band/harness 74 and the respirator holder is shown at 1 with first connection - connection 21 and ' having strip 191 and firs, Lurther connection 211. The arrangement gives secure location to effect a good seal of the respirator to the face.
Referring more Particularly to the construction of -.-he holder 1, this has a boundary definina rip. part 35 which is shaped to receive a resilient sealing member 37 made of a foam iD-!astics adhered zo the rip. iDar-peripher-all boundary axially of the respIrator 3 and -t-esr)i-ator into conformity This is - made possible bv 8 material 35. Figure 3b s-nows an einbodimenr in which -k-ne arms 39 of ";;--ne spectacle are provided with hooked ends 41 for ing round the ear which is an alternative;.--o the ear -UDS 9.
Where reference has been made above to spectacles it W1-111 be understood that the same could be goggles.
I'L: will be understood f rom the foregoing that the f irst connection means could take other forms that could provide the desired location in the area of the nose bridge such as a simple hook type clip engaging a sneczacle part, by also extending to direct engagement with the nose bridge by suitable shaping then avoiding the need to contact a spectacle part so that the carrier becomes in effect part of the holder. With such an embodiment it is envisage that the second connection means could then be directly with the ear by way of an adjus41.--able arm or ear cup.
W z c Last - ly "-"-icru-e 5. -2--,-ius----ates a holder 101 JEor a disposable elemenz type respirator 3 having wing-like parts 101 to which an elasticated head band 112 is secured. As Drevious1v the holder has slots 5 and is of moulded plasrics --onsti-ruc--ion with a peripheral boundary defining rim 35, which receives a resilient sealing member 35. The sealina member services zo ensure se:::tling of -',-he respirator around the facial contours as L_ - previously described.
