226,006. Imrie, H., (Laskey, W. B., and Cevasco, Cavagnaro, & Ambrette, Inc.). Nov. 10, 1923. Extrusion machines.-Porous candy is formed by extruding the Material through a die in a plurality of separate tubular streams, which, after leaving the die, are expanded laterally to cause them to contact and adhere peripherally. As shown, candy material 5 is forced by a plunger 7 through a plurality of separated openings 6 in the die 2, such openings being furnished with cores 9 provided with ducts 10 supported on tubes and communicating with a chamber 12 connected to a compressed air supply. Fig. 4 shows the product, having pores 14, 15 within and between the tubes respectively.
