Abstract
A badminton racket comprises a frame 1, a shaft 2 and a handle 3. The frame is shaped such that if the frame is divided half-way along the longitudinal length L, the upper portion La has a maximum transverse width Wa greater than the maximum transverse width Wb of the lower portionb. <IMAGE>
Description
A Novel Badminton Racket
This application relates to a novel badminton racket.
As shown in Fig.2, a conventional badminton racke c prises a frame a, a shaft b and a handle c. The frame a is in an elliptical shape. Take the intermediate point along the longitudinal length 1 of the frame a as abasis, the upper portion la has a maxim transverse width smaller than that of the lower portion lb.
But in a badminton racket-the sweet spot resides. at the upper portion la, any playing techniques in striking, controllingr and - receiving the ball are performed effectively in the area of upper portion la. And at lower portion ib, especially opposite lateral corners sa and sb are ineffective areas. Zt is apparent that theconfiguration of conventional badminton racket has great disadvantages.
The object of this application is to provide a novel badminton racket, completely different from the elliptical configuration of conventional racket, and characterized in that the frame is so shaped that when the frame is divided at the intermediate half-way along the longitudinal length to have an upper portion and a lower portion, then said upper portion has a maximum transverse width greater than that of said lower portion.
For a better understanding of the aforementioned and other objects and features GL this application, reference is made to the following detailed description, which is taken in connection with the accompanying drawings, in which:
Fig. 1 is a plane view of one embodiment depicting the novel badminton racket according to the present application; and
Fig. 2 is a plane view of conventional badminton racket.
With reference to Fig. 1, the badminton racket according to present application comprises a frame 1, a shaft 2 and a handle 3, as conventional one. The present badminton racket is distinquished from the elliptical configuration of conventional one- and characterized in that said frame 1 is so shaped that when said frame 1 is divided at the intermediate point along the longitudinal length L to have an upper portion La and.a lower portion Lb, then said upper portion La has a maximum transverse width Wa greater than the maximum transverse width Wb of said lower portion.
The configuration of the frame according to present application apparently enlarges the striking area at-the upper portion La and restricts the ineffective area at lateral sides of the lower portion Lb, so that the weight of the racket~isokept- almost unchagned, rather the effective sweet - spot. is greatly-- increased and thus the performance of the paying is satisfactory enhanced.
Although this application has been described in detail with reference to its presently preferred embodiment, it will be understood by the person skilled in the art that various..
modifications, changes and variations can be made without departing from the scope of the invention as defined by the apended claims.
Claims (2)
1. A badminton racket comprising a frame, a shaft and a handle, characterized in that said frame is so shaped that when said frame is divided at the intermediate along the longitudinal length to have an upper portion and a lower portion, then said upper portion has a maximum transverse width greater than that of said lower portion.
2. A badminton racket substantially as hereinbefore described with reference to Figure 1 of the accompanying drawings.
