Abstract

A squash racket comprising a frame 1, a throat 2 and a grip 3, characterized in that the distance L of said throat from the top of said frame is greater than 8.5 inches or 22.59 cm, and preferably said throat is located in a range between a distance from the top of said frame of 9 inches or 22.86 cm on the one hand and a distance from said grip of at least 4 cm on the other hand. <IMAGE>

Description

A SQUASH RACKET This application relates to a squash racket, particularly to a squash racket that has a throat in a location different from that of a conventional one.
Conventionally, a squash racket consists of a frame 1', a throat 2' and a grip 3', as shown in Fig. 1. According to the specification of standard, the length L' in the longitudinal axis of the frame 1', i.e. the distance from the top of the frame 1' to the throat 2', is 8.5 inches or 21.59 cm, so that the strike area is too limited to strike a relatively variable rebound ball.
Therefore, the object of this application is to provide a novel squash racket with a frame having a longitudinal length greater than conventional one so as to increase the strike area and thereby to enhance the elastic power.
In this novel squash racket the longitudinal length of the frame is at least 9 inches or 22.86 cm while the distance from the throat to the grip is at least 4 cm, in other words, the throat is located in a range between a distance of 22.86 cm from the top of the frame on the one band and a distance of 4 cm from the grip on the other hand.
For a better understanding of the nature and object of this application, reference is made to the following detailed description, which is to be taken in connection with the accompanying drawings, wherein Fig. 1 is a plane view of conventional squash racket: Fig. 2 is a plane view depicting one embodiment of the squash racket according to this application; and Fig. 3 is a plane view depicting another embodiment of the squash racket according to this application.
As shown in Figs. 2 and 3 the squash racket of this application comprises, as conventional racket, a frame 1, a throat 2 and a grip 3. But the throat 2' in conventional racket, as shown in Fig. 1, is located at a distance L' from the top of the frame 1', i.e. the length in the longitudinal axis of the frame 1', equals to 8.5 inches or 21.59 Cm, while the corresponding distance L of the throat 2 in the present racket is greater than that of conventional one, preferably is varied in a range between a distance L of 9 inches or 22.86 cm from the top of the frame 1 on the one hand, as shown in Fig.3, and a distance d of 4 cm from the grip 3 on the other hand, as shown in Fig. 2.
In other words, the distance L is at least of 9 inches or 22.86 cm and accordingly may be made longer, i.e. L+a, until the extreme extent as shown in Fig. 2. On the contrary, the distance d is at least 4 cm and accordingly may be made longer, i.e. d+a, until the extreme extent as shown in Fig.3.
It is obvious that the throat 2 may be varied between one extreme position as shown in Fig. 2 and another extreme position as shown in Fig. 3.
In comparison of present squash racket in either one embodiment as shown in Fig.2 or another embodiment as shown in Fig.3 with the conventional squash racket as shown in Fig.
1, it is apparent that the present squash racket has an area bound within the frame greater than that of conventional one so as to increase the strike area and thus the sweet spot.
Moreover, since the distance L of the throat 2 from the top of the frame 1 is increased, so that the longitudinal strings (not completely shown) within the frame are lengthened to apply a more elastic power.
