Vibration-dampers of the friction disc type for motor-cars &c. are arranged to resist the rebound only of the suspension springs. As shown, a central plate c is locked to a casing or ring d integral with an arm a in one direction of rotation only by means of rollers e operating in elongated notches. The plate c carries with it metal discs i, i<1>, and interposed between these discs and similar meter discs k, k carried by the other arm b of the device are friction discs j, j<1>. The device is assembled by a bolt g and spring washers l, l<1>. If desired, the discs on one side of the plate c may be dispensed with and the plate c engaged by ratchets &c. instead of rollers.
