Abstract

A bathwater syphoning system consisting of a length of flexible tubing, attached to one end of which is a suction cup C. The suction cup C holds the end A of the tubing in the bathwater - thus leaving the operators hands free. A two-way tap D is attached to the other end B of the tubing, to regulate the flow of water, and the syphoning action is started using a hand held bellows pump E connected to the open tap D. <IMAGE>

Description

This invention relates to a system for syphoning bathwater.
With frequent water shortages during the sunner months, anc the prospect of domestic water being retired, gardeners endeavour to make the most of household waste water, a major source being bath water. Emptying athwater car be difficult and time consuming and usually requires ore than one par of hands to accomplish it.
According to the present rnvention, there is a length of flexible tubing, attached t one end of which is a suction cup which adheres to the side of the bath in order to hold that end of the tu ing in the bathwate@. Attacked @@@@h other end of the tubing is a two way tap, enalling the flow of water fro the bath through the tubing to 3 controlled.
A hand held beilows pump is connected to the tap, and is employed to initiate a syphonirg action.
A specific embodiment of the invention will now be described by way of an example, with reference to t@e accompanying diagram Referring to the diawing, the suction cup C which is attached to one end of the tubing A, is placed on the side of the bath, thus positioning the end of the tubing A into the bathwater.
The other end of the tubing E, with tap D attached, is put through the -athroon window, where it reaches almost to the ground outside. With the two-way tap D in the open position the bellows pump E is connected to it and is squeezed repeatedly until a syphoning action is started. When the flo of bathwater reaches the tap B, the tap is then turned to the off position, which maintains the water in the tu ing whilst allowing the pump E to -e removed.
The tsp is then turned or, allowing the water fror the bath to flow freely out. The flow of water is thi; regulated by the tap.

Claims (1)

1. A bathwater syphoning system comprising a length of flexible tubing with a suction cup atta ched to one end as means of securing tnat end of the tubing in the bath, and a two- way tap atta ched to the other end to regulate the flow of syphoned water0 The syphoning action is started by using a hand held bellows pump which is connected to the open tap.
