Abstract

A disposable grill pan has a self supporting guttered grill 1 from which fat from cooking foodstuffs can run into an integral sump 2 and be protected from radiant heat by integral tongue 4. The disposable grill pan, when soiled, is disposed of after use eliminating the need to clean the grill pan. <IMAGE>

Description

DISPOSABLE GRILL PAN This invention relates to a disposable grill pan.
Grill pans are a well known feature of domestic and commercial cooking ovens. They typically comprise a grid upon which the food is placed and a sump pan to collect fat.
Grill pans and grids are, however, difficult and tedious to clean.
According to the present invention there is provided a heat resistant one piece disposable grill pan comprising of a self supporting guttered grill with integral sump and tongue which folds over the sump to shield collected fat.
A specific embodiment of the invention will now be described by way of example with reference to the accompanying drawing in which: Figure 1 shows in isometric, the the grill pan with the tongue unfolded; Figure 2 shows in section the grill pan with the tongue folded over the sump; Figure 3 shows in section the grill pan showing the sump and gutter arrangement.
Refering to the drawing the grill pan comprises a boxlike stucture with a multi ridge and sloping gutter area 1. The gutters slope to the sump 2. Fold lines 3 allow the tongue 4 to be folded into its position over the sump.
The foodstuff to be cooked is placed on the multi ridge and sloping gutter area 1. Fat runs down the gutters and collects in the sump 2 which is protected from radiant heat by the folding tongue 4.
The grill pan is disposed of after cooking.

Claims (2)

1 A disposable grill pan comprising a one piece body in the form of a multi ridged and sloping gutter and sump.
2 A disposable grill pan as claimed in claim 1 wherein a folding tongue is provided to shield the sump.
