Pleating.-A device for producing reinforcing folds in a paper strip b for use as a bandage &c., comprises flanged rollers a<1> co-operating with plain rollers a, scrolls e for doubling down the edges of the strip, and grooved rollers d cooperating with ribbed rollers d<1> which in conjunction with a folding blade f produce a fold b' in the middle of the strip as shown in Fig. 3. Pairs of plain rollers c are employed for pressing the folds.
