Description

Display and Sales Stand for Chains, Hoses and Similar Materials ne invention relates to a display and sales stand for chains. noses and similar material with spindles that are mounted on possibly extendable struts and carry the supply drums. Such a saies stand is alreadv Known from the German Utility Model G 87 06 i94.5.
Sucn sales stands nave proved very successful, tnouah tne price display system stands in need of Improvenent and furtner development. To fix prices to rotating drums of considerable weight is of course associated with some difficulty, and price rails have already Deen suggested for this purpose.
bect of tne invention is therefore the l.provement of the design of such Drice rails and the manner in which they are attached to the stand.
Accordina to the invention this improvement is obtained b means o a price batten holder, possibly made of aluminium, that can De attached to struts projecting from a carrier panel, where the price rail batten of the said price rail holder carries the actual price rail, which could be made of PVC, complete with its covering foil.
In this way, given the flexural rigidity of the aluminium profile, especially when this takes the form of a U-section, the stable holder ensures a stable overall arrangement that is not in any way dependent on the distance between the rolls.
Since the actual price rail is seated on the aluminium T-section and the price rail noider and the profiled price batten are firmly attached to each other, the arranaement is given a stable form: there is no possibility of any of tne battens becoming deflected.
Furtnermore. the price batten is protected against unintentional removal by means of a retention device consisting or a spring and stud and a retaining hoie preferably in the tier strut. The making of the price batten Decomes less complicated. Standard and series-produced parts can be used.
The holders of the price rail should preferably be capable of being swivelled.
The covering foil should preferably be transparent and capable of being swivelled upwards.
It will be appropriate for the price rail to be capable of being slid onto the fatten - consisting especiaily of an aluminium section - and. furthermore, to be attached thereto by means of a double adhesive tape.
It is possible for a transparent foil overprinted in the manner of a measuring tape to be slid under the covering foil and clamped in position there.
If desired, another transparent foil printed with article designations and the like can be slid over the measuring foil and below the covering foil and clamped in position tnere.
The trice tags, possibly in tne form of individual units, can preferably be slid between the measuring foil and the designation foil and be clamped in position there.
The price batten holder can preferably be made in such a way that its batten has perpendicular legs in tne form or U-sections that can be slid into the struts and then be fixed to them. The struts can be provided witn retaining noles and the U-rails with springs and retaining studs that can De introduced into the said retaining holes from the outside.
The taluminium) price batten has a web on its underside by means of which it can be attached to its U s-cticn legs, which for this purpose have an appropriate recess in their upper end wedge. in such a way as to be capable of being swivellea.
The prine rail can have projections on its underside, one of which fits over one side of the rigid price batten rail, while the other fits into a fur ther recess in the end face of the U-rail holder.
The transparent measuring foil and tne transparent designation foil, as weli as the transparent price tags, can have a thickness of, say, 0.20 mm.
The price batten is thus protected against unintentional removal by means of a retention device consisting of spring and stud and a retaining hole in the tier strut.
By sliding in different foils and clamping them securely in position it is sunsequently possible to change the prices and/or the designations, but above all the former, without any difficulty. When the various foils are slid in, one on top of the other, they remain legible and, after the covering foil has been folded down, produce the same effect as a single foil.
By way of example, some emDodiments of the invention will now be described in greater detail with reference to the appended drawings, wherein: Figure 1 shows an assembly drawing and exploded view, Figure 2 shows the detail of a holder, Figure 3 shows the holder with the price rail, Figure 4 shows the attachment details, Figure 5 shows the various components of the price rail, and Figure 6 shows how the complete price batten is mounted on the chain supply drum tier.
The sales stand as known from the aforementioned utility model can be seen on the left hand side of Figure 1.
The price batten holder 12, whose actual price batten 14 is carried by two lateral U-rails 34, is to be described as new and inventive. By means of its U-rails the price batten holder can be inserted into the struts 10 of the carrier and the price batten 12 can therefore be attached to the carrier (after the drums have been mounted). Details of the arrangement will be described at a later stage.
A double adhesive strip 20 is stuck to the batten 14 of the price batten holder 12. The foil is removed from the double adhesive strip. A price rail 16 is then slid laterally onto the price batten holder 5 and firmly pressed against it. A measuring foil 22 can be slid below the covering foil 18 of the price rail 16. Care must however be taken to ensure that the scale faces upwards. Another foil, the designation foil 24, is then slid over the measuring foil 22 and below the covering foil 18 and clamped in position. Price tags 26 can also be slid individually between the measuring foil and the designation foil (all these inserts are transparent) , these tags being normally positioned centrally below the appropriate designation symbol. The complete price batten holder can be suspended from the tier and firmly attached to it by means that have yet to be described.
The price batten holder 12 can be seen in Figure 2; it is slightly kinked and in its upper part has the recesses 38 for the batten 14 and 46 for anchoring the plastic price rail. Two such U-shaped holders or carriers are provided, each having a cutout 48 in its lower part, thus creating a slit between the holder-and the spring 30, which could be fixed to it by means of rivets for example, the end of the spring 30 being provided with a retaining stud 32 that can be inserted in the retaining hole 48 adumbrated in Figure 1. The web of the T-shaped rail can be fixed at 40, by means of rivets for example, the hole provided for this connection being shown in the left-hand part of Figure 2. The fixing element can be applied in such a way as to permit the carrier legs 12; 12 to be swivelled with respect to the price batten rail. The retaining stud 32 can be a round-headed rivet that can be secured in position by means of a lock washer. The spring can be a spring strip, which could be made of steel for example, while the rivets for attaching the spring could be blind rivets.
The reference numbers in Figure 3 designate the same parts as before.
One can clearly recognize the price rail 14; the possibility of swivelling the U-shaped legs 34 is adumbrated. The height of the inserted U-leg 34 can be varied, one simply has to provide an additional retaining hole. The price rail 14 can be of variable length and can be produced in a very simple manner by cutting to the correct length.
Figure 4 shows a detail of the price rail 16 with the covering foil 18. A relatively thick projection 15 formed integrally with the rail is provided in the position where the price rail 16 and the covering foil 18 form a kind of hinge. A continuous projection 44 is provided to permit the price rail to be inserted in the boring 46 of the holder; another continuous projection 42 is provided to lap over the underlying rail. It is important for the price tag foil to be firmly attached to the price rail. The price rail 16 could be a transparent PVC foil, colour orange RAL 2004. The price rail could have a thickness of 0.70 mm.
Figure 5 shows an interesting detail, namely the measuring foil illustrated in Figure 5a, which is generally transparent and white, made of PVC, and has a thickness of 0.20 mm. The measuring foil 22 carries a measuring scale for determining the length of the chains, cables or hoses to be sold.
Figure 5b shows a designation foil 24, which is likewise transparent, white, and made of 0.20 mm thick PVC. The rail carries symbols, in the case here illustrated the chains offered for sale. The lettering panels are only outlined and serve - inter alia - to describe the displayed merchandise by giving information of a general kind, such as name, type, loading capacity, etc.
The price tag foils of Figure 5c can once again be transparent, white, and made of 0.20 mm thick PVC.
These price tag foils 26 may contain information about the selling price, possibly with a customerspecific article number.
Lastly, Figure 6 shows a complete assembly of the new price batten, which is already attached to the chain tier and/or the struts 10; 10. The arrows indicate how the rails 34 can be swivelled. The price rail 16 is shown with its projection 42 hooked into the recess 46: one can see that the covering foil 18 can be lifted by swivelling. The complete price batten is mounted on the outer struts of the [...Translator's Note: Some words are evidently missing at this point, which in the German original occurs exactly at the end of page 6... in such a way that it is slid into the insertion slits of the struts. The sliding inwards is continued until the retaining stud 32 engages the retaining hole 28 of the tier struts 10. The price batten is thus secured against unintentional removal. When the retaining springs are disengaged on both sides, the price batten can be readily removed by lifting, for example when the supply drums have to be changed.
