Yarns, warping and beaming. - In slasher and warper creels, the section beams 11, Fig. 1, are braked by means of ropes or bands 21 adjustably connected at one end to brackets 23 and furnished with hooks 27 connected to hooks on the offset lugs 28 of arms 29 of levers 29, 31, Figs. 1, 3 and 4, of tension regulators, the longer arms 31 of which support rotatable roller shafts 45. The levers 29, 31 have hubs secured to shafts 33 mounted in bearings 35, opposite and aligned shafts being furnished with housings 37 - pressed into sleeves 36. The housings are furnished with ball-bearing assemblies 38, 39. A dust and grease cup 41 threaded on to a portion 40 of the housing 37 is furnished with a duct 42 for lubrication. Each sheet of warp passes over a sleeve 36 and under the corresponding roller shaft 45 thence over the other tension regulator forward thereof to the size box or direct to the loom beam. The shafts 45 float on the yarns and as the tension varies the levers 29, 31 rock. thereby causing the frictional engagement of the braking-members 21 to be varied so as to secure an even tension in each sheet of yarn. The shafts 45 are reduced at their ends, which are received in openings 46 in the lever arms 31. The openings 46 are larger than the reduced ends of the shafts, which can thus tilt slightly when necessary, the carrying levers 29, 31 for each end of a roller shaft 45 being independently mounted.
