Description

"A video Cassette holder" The present invention relates to a video cassette holder and additionally to a means for transporting such holders.
According to the invention there is provided a video cassette holder comprising:- a shelf support; and a plurality of spaced-apart cassette receivers on the shelf.
The invention will be more clearly understood from the following description of some embodiments thereof given by way of example only with reference to the accompanying drawings in which Fig. 1 is perspective view for one side of a video cassette holder according to the invention, Fig. 2 is a perspective view of 2 cover portion of the video cassette holder, Fig. 3 is a perspective view fror another side of the holder, Fig. 4 is a perspective view of C cover portion of the holder Fig. 5 is a perspective view of the holder, in use, with the cover portion omitted, Fig. 6 is a perspective view of a trolley for support of a video cassette holder, Fig. 7 is a perspective view showing a plurality of video cassette holders and video cassettes mounted on the trolley of Fig. 6, Figs. 8(a) to (c) shows portion of the trolley of Figs.
3 and 4 with certain parts removed in the assembled and disassembled positions, and Referring to the drawings and initially to Figs. 1 to 5 thereof there is illustrated a video cassette holder indicated generally by the reference numeral i comprising a shelf support 2 having a plurality of spaced-apart cassette receivers formed from pockets 3 into which a cassette 4 may be inserted. There is provided at each end of the shelf support 2 engagement means for engaging the shelf support 2 on a pair of spaced-apart bars 10, 11, each engagement means comprises a transverse cylindrical hole 5 communicating by means of a downwardly directed slot 6. The portion of the shelf support 2 incorporating the hole 5 and slot 6 is formed by a length of plastics tubing 7.It will be appreciated that the shelf support 2 can be mounted on a pair of parallel spaced-apart bars 10, 11 by engaging the holes 5 with the said bars.
A cover 8 covers the uppermost edges of the video cassettes in use to protect them against rainfall. The cover 8 is shown in detail in Figs. 2 and 4 and comprises a base 9 which is preferably permanently attached to the support 2 and a plurality of spaced-apart pockets 30 into which cassettes 4 are inserted as shown in Fig. 3. Preferably the cover 8 is integrally moulded from a plastics material.
Referring to Figs. 6 to 8 there is illustrated a trolley indicated generally by the reference numeral 20 having ground engaging wheels 21 with a pair of parallel spaced-apart bars 10, 11 forming portion of a handle for the trolley, upper and lower display plates 16, 17 for advertising or other material provided. The bars 10, 11 are hinged intermediate their ends at 14 and are locked in position by slidable sleeves 15. It will bE readily apparent from Figs. 8(a) to (c) how the trolley 20 is folded for transportation and storage.
In use, the video cassette holders 1 are mounted on the trolley by engaging the tubing 7 with the bars 10, 11.
The advantages of the trolley and the video cassette holder are many. The advantage of the video cassette holder is that a number of video cassettes can be carried from place to place and transported on the trolley or alternatively placed on shelving for display without the necessity to provide any other support. The trolley can be used to transport a number of cassettes from place to place and in particular when it is desired to deliver or display a variety of cassettes to, for example, customers in office buildings, high rise apartment blocks or the like.
